Again I'm gonna suggest looking for water intrusion at the SJB (based on what I've read here with similar issues). Or perhaps the computer took a shit.

I would say the next step is to pull the alternator and have it tested at the auto parts store. If that doesn't work, I'd take skwerl's offer and try out a different TB. If THAT doesn't work, then I'd be inspecting any part of the wiring you relocated for your tuck.

Yeah. I'm starting to get the feeling the PCM took a shit. Hopefully tomorrow morning I can check over the wiring and other fuses and what not.

@flapjack, what makes you think of the alternator?

Oh and I've had the SJB out of the car twice to dry it off. It didn't rain hardly at all the night before, though I will pull the SJB and check it out.

Just checked all the fuses. All were good. turned on the ignition switch on and pulled the big levered plug on the SJB and the clicking stopped. What runs through that particular plug?

I know you checked all the fuses, but i bet the 5 amp fuse in the #19 position in the SJB is bad. If you do not have a meter just use another fuse.

I've just seen alternators do crazy things. There are a lot of things that can go wrong with them. Twice, I've had the diode fail and drain the entire battery (killing it in the process) overnight. I've also seen the alternator play hell with the electrical system, set CELs, etc... It's so easy to take the alternator out and run it to the parts store. I would rule it out before really jumping into the wiring.

Checked #19 fuse yesterday, still good. Need to see if I can get ford to check my SJB, or if there is another S197 in the area where I can swap theirs to see if that is actually the problem. Any takers?

Have you looked at your BEC yet? Where did you relocate it to? There are 3-4 screws that hold down the main plugs to the fuse block area. If that comes loose (even a little), you can have all sorts of problems. I would check to make sure all of those screws are tight and the housing is not hung in any of the corners.

The PCM comes up last on the diagnostic checklists that I have seen. There should be a full diagnostic checklist out there for the electronic throttle control system. Unfortunately, I didn't find a full list in the quick google search that I just did. But if I have time later today, I'll try again.

The full list should include tests of the voltages & resistances in the circuits to the tps, actuator/motor, & accelerator.

Here is a link that describes general throttle-by-wire systems: http://www.aa1car.com/library/throttle-by-wire.htm

Is the the ticking coming from the throttle body motor?

He is correct. The last steps of each pin point test will be to check the pins of the PCM plugs for loose seating, bent pins, corrosion, etc. I know PCMs can go bad.... I've just never personally seen it. I wasted money on a PCM while troubleshooting a TB related issue a few months back. You may want to search for my thread. It might save you some time troubleshooting.

Yes the ticking is coming from the butterflies taping against the housing. The blades only move about an 1/8th inch. It is a rapid and continuous movement.

I don't think that the issue is the TB itself. What ever it is is causing the TB to tick, preventing the fuel pump from coming on like it should, the trip meter and odometer to be replaced with dashes instead of numbers and the OBD2 port has no power. This all happens when I turn the ignition on.

I talked to my local dealership yesterday, and we concluded that it would be most likely one of 3 things, the PCM, the SJB, or the gauge cluster. He did mention that when the SJB goes bad, it usually does so in the form of a steady drain on the battery. I just wish I had the money right now to take them the car and run diagnostics.

Though when the saw my car they would probably start screaming in tongues and shoving crosses in its direction...
