how much is that tensioner alone if you can get it...not that im having any issues but it looks like a nice option for people

I dont think it would fit, it seems to be alot shorter than the one everyone uses now. Id have to look again, should have done that when i had the kit apart because i thought the same thing. Best thing IMO Mike is the ThumpRRR tensioner, can't beat it!

Buy the thump_rrr tensioner it has been proven to handle over 20 pounds of boost without issues. Also, it is Ron tested, if he can't break it no one can. Thump_rrr is a vendor here so check him out.

+1 and +1...

If you bend/break one or two (or more) others before you invest in the Thump_rrr, it's only going to cost more in the long run.

i havent had one problem yet with my stock tensioner, and now im running a metco braced tensioner with KB 8-rib and no issues. i may pick up a thumprr tensioner sometime in the future because it is a nice piece and he is a vendor here and has been helpful to me in the past. no need to spend that right now though when im not having any problems

Hey Junior, last time I was there you put the Metco plate on my tensioner. Since then I have heard the belt squeal at least twice under hard take off and you just put a new belt on. Do I need a Thumper tensioner?

Its hard to say it just may be normal squeal from the tensioner or if the tensioner arm bent and the pulley is riding cocked off to the side then it will squeal or chirp like a bad idler pulley would.

Everyone needs thumper tensioners!!!

Seriously though, I'd rather replace it on a good running car when it's not a problem than have someone stuck on the side of the road in the rain or worse lose a motor. The Metco brace was a good solution for awhile but proved to be only a band-aid. It's much better than nothing but you cannot beat Peter's literally rock solid tensioner arm. I would throw that thing against a wall a hundred times and you could still put it on a car I'd bet.

If anyone wants to volunteer their thumper_rrr tensioner for that test, I'll warm up my arm.

I wish you would have told me when I was down there. A day late and a dollar short, story of my life. Put one on the side with my name on it, next time I am down there change it.

I think we were still testing them at that point to see if we could break one. Nothing makes you look dumber than putting your name behind a company and boom! lol.

We'll catch you on the next go around, I'm sure there will be more bro!
