I know the water would settle at the top of the oil pan, but I ran it to operating temp, gave it a few revs, and drained what you see right away hoping to get a good mixed up sample.

Questions:
Would I see water if there was any to be worried about by doing this?
Why is it so dirty looking already with only 1000 miles on it?

Let me know what you guys think.

You should Just Yank the engine and sell it to help fund the build before you blow it up. Then attach new trans to new long block and not have to worry about it.

Unless you plan on using this longblock. Just assumed you'd go with the aluminator

Aluminators jumped in price. Its just as much if not more then building a stronger bottom end with arp bolts etc. I've been quoted about 5k to pull, build, reassemble retune.

Take the oil and dump it in to a clear container taht you can see through (big glass or something of that nature) Let it sit. If there is water you will see it looking from the side.

That oil is dark for being so new.

from the famous tapatalk

Oil doesn't get dark from being new.

Its carbon (mostly) and the detergents doing their job, particles that don't get trapped by the oil filter (these are good particles) thinner oil gets darker quicker than thicker oil.

Water contaminated Amsoil is out, I ran mobile 1 5W-20 for 2 days to wash whatever else might be left, drained that, filled car back up with more Amsoil...

Worlds most expensive oil change.... Ever.....
