Throwout bearing covered under warranty? UPDATE!

So the girlfriend's 2014 GT is giving signs the throwout bearing is shot. Getting a squeaking sound when you depress the clutch in any gear or neutral. Car has 56k Kms on it (approx. 39k miles). I know the clutch is not covered and it works fine, but not sure if the throwout bearing is considered drivetrain or not.

Hoping Ford will cover a replacement and then will get them to throw in a supplied clutch while they are at it.

Update, decided not to pay for a new clutch, still many miles left on it. Left it with Ford and they ended up replacing the throwout bearing, clutch, pressure plate and pilot bearing all under warranty.

Very amazed and pleased!!

It is a part of the power train. And is literally part of the transmission of power from the engine to the transmission. It might be covered under the 5/50,000 power train warranty. One way to find out.

Just looked at the warranty guide for the 2014 mustang and the only part of the clutch not covered is clutch linings, so I would think they will. It is also covered to 60k kms and she is at 56k kms, just under the wire.

Took it to Ford, it is covered under warranty. Only difference is the warranty is to 100k kms, not 60k like I had thought.

Now to figure out what clutch to get.

Yes, covered under the 5/60 powertrain warranty.
Powertrain in the US is 60k miles, 100k km in Canada.
And no, you most likely won't get a new clutch out of it.
You could pay for the parts if you wanted a new one, you'd be getting a new clutch installed for parts price only, not a bad deal at all.

Not surprised at all, a lot of times things like that get replaced as related damage, or they come in a package.

Now she can afford to buy a new freaking wheel
