Just thought I’d share an update on the ticking sound. After a few shops telling me that my mustang needed a new engine, I tried on last place. Within minutes they said “it’s the clutch”. Turns out all 4 clutch springs came loose and would rattle. Life is good again
I'd be calling those other shops that said that and let them know that, and stay away from them in the future, and post bad reviews on them as well.

My 2014 makes a funny noise too, and has for some time. Not really sure what to make of it. It isn't a knock, more of a tick but kinda hard to characterize it. One of these days I'll post a video up, if it doesn't let go before then. I'm lazy, and really don't feel like tearing it apart to figure this out. If it gets worse to the point that there is obviously a real issue there then I'll end up having to do something about it. Like drop a new engine in with a better bottom end.

Just thought I’d post an update on the ticking. Back in October when the clutch was replaced, the noise did go away, unfortunately it came back The car now has 178k miles. once again no one can tell where it’s coming from without tearing it down. I guess I’m back to square one.

Update on the tick. I had another shop just tell me they thought it was a spun bearing and with the amount of miles it had, they recommended I get a new engine. After that , I kinda just said forget it and I’ll live with the tick. The engine still pulls hard and the tick comes and goes. Usually between 2-3k rpm range. I figure I’ll try to get the most out of her until I decide if I actually want to put a new engine in or a new car. What’s crazy is at one point in my cars life, under 60k miles, it did have the bbq tick bit that went away.

I read an article where they did a review of a GT350 after driving it for 40k miles and they claim it developed a tick between 2-3k rpm. I thought that was crazy.

Don't ever go back to that shop again. If the engine had a spun rod bearing, you'd hear a loud knock rather than a fine tick and your engine would have a low oil pressure.
A cause for the ticking that hasn't yet been considered is a header leak so you might want to look into that possibility.

After I was told that, I went and looked it up on YouTube to hear what It sounded like , and I said to myself, my car does not sound like that.

Dino, It’s funny you mentioned a header leak. A buddy of mine said the same thing. I guess it wouldn't hurt to look into it.

Hello my fellow 5.0 friend. Can you please help with some insight on my issue I’ve heard so many different things but I remain stumped! Here’s a sound of it

I do hear an intermittent light ticking sound but that could just be the AC clutch cycling on and off.
