I installed ARP main bolts on the mains and it states about 17mm to be shaved off the pickup stand bolt in the photo. Just wondering what you guys think is proper clearance for the sump pickup. I already shaved about 2 mm off it but it's only allowing 1 mm clearance after measuring. I know that's way too close.

Are you sure it says to remove 17mm from the stand?

Lol sorry I meant 1.7 mm as the instructions from ARP state 0.070 ins. I have taken about 2mm off the pedestal and still only a 1mm clearance. I know us Europeans can be awkward being metric EDIT: I also forgot to add in another 2-3mm for the gasket so overall about 3mm clearance probably

Measure the gasket to be sure of the thickness. Personally I would aim for roughly 6mm clearance. That’s about 1/4 inch, so should be good.

The Mustang breathed back into life today so fingers crossed for a few trips now. A massive thanks to everyone on this thread and other threads that gave me the vital information I needed to complete this over three very long months and the endless wait for parts never mind the expense of what really still is very much a stock engine. Without you guys and the internet it would have been a colossal task to undertake here in Ireland where theres limited knowledge of these cars and engines :D

Love the colour combination.
Now you'll have to hope for nice weather (in the Emerald Isle that wouldn't be emerald if it didn't rain so much) so you can drive the wheels off it. :D
We had a great summer this year Dino probably the best in a good few years and my car has been off the road since April:( I will catch a few car shows this month before I lock her away for winter.
