I found these on craigslist: http://knoxville.craigslist.org/pts/3758057685.html
I was wanting to get a set of slicks for the track in the future and this looks to be a good deal. The question I have is, Are these too tall of a tire for my set up? Turbo stick car with a 3.55 gear. I have been wanting to know this for awhile and came across these. Definitely dont want to pass these up if they will work! Ill probably put them on a jegs or summit 15x8 wheel in the rear.

Make sure they aren't old because they start to deteriorate over time, I'm pretty sure.

I'm no turbo guru, however, the taller tire will made your gearing effectively lower, should help load the motor and work fine

This^. Bought a set of slicks from a friend for a $100, I ended up never using them and sold them to a friend to get my money out of them. He made one pass with them and they blew.

If they are a MT they have the date code molded next to the bead. Will be a 4 digit number. Set I have is 4411= 4th month, 4th day, 2011

Like someone else said. They will deteriorate with time. If they are left outside very long it will ruin them.

Not to nit-pick, but,, The tire manufacture date code is read as WEEK/YEAR,

So your tires were made in the 44th week of 2011,

I'd be careful buying used tires, I've looked at tires from guys who "only made a couple passes" on the set they're selling.

What they ain't sayin' is, the guy he got em' from made 200+ and stored em' under the trailer when he parked it out behind the shed for the winter.

I stand corrected. Thank you. I had called MT and asked that question a few years ago but I guess old age is catching up with me.:sigh1:
