Trunk wont open by remote???

hey i though i would share this with you guys in hopes of maybe someone can help me. i have done a search and nothing has come up. basically my trunk wont open with my key fob and so far i know ITS NOT

Key FOB ( tested it and sends the trunk signal fine bc both key fobs wont open trunk)
trunk solenoid (its good cuz i tested it with good power and it unlocks)
Fuse is good tested with good one

not sure what else to test i have no idea were to begin. is the trunk pop related to the security system? were should i start? i have tried to trace back wiring but its late and could not see any further. any help will be greatly appreciated

The sjb controls this. I installed an interior trunk release button and i spliced it off a wire coming off the back of the sjb. Its a ground operated circuit so when you ground the power wire it releases the trunk latch.

I would find the sjb wire and try grounding it and see if that works. i think its a pink/white wire.

yea this is my next step. by the way what a sjb? also found out may be my relay i will look into this in the morning

Smart junction box, inside passengerside footwell, It has fuses and relays as well. It takes power from the underhood fusepanel and controls all the electronic stuff in the car, lights, windows, radio, etc.

What about the relay in the BEC (Bussed electrical center, the black box under the hood)?
It's one of the smaller relays in the middle, next to the foglamp relay.

Yep. I took that wire and ran it to the extra, factory custom switch panel on my door, to use as a trunk release button. When you pull up on the button, clunk, the trunk monkey pops it open for me.

Nice, very clean, i like that idea, but i actually use that button on my vert lol

Try holding the FOB button for like 5 seconds or so. Sometimes they are programmed like that to prevent accidental trunk openings.

Off beat thought: is the car on any incline when you try to open the trunk? My trunk won't open when the car is on an incline a sort of safety feature, I believe.

That's the funny thing. My coupe came with that panel in the door. I had the car for months before I realized that the switch went to nothing. I asked my service manager what it was for and he said it was for my rear quarter windows. I laughed and said, "What rear quarter windows?" Only thing we could figure was some hung over ford employee just slapped it in there without any thought. I had to find the little pigail to wire up my trunk, but I like it.

Well I set it up so that you would have to pull up on it, just in case someone tried to use the button, or I rested my arm on it.
