Yea its very much worth it!

SO, in doing research on what plugs to get it seems spark plug preferences are about as bad as Oil preferences.

Any suggestions on what plugs to go with for a stock gt500. I will be getting an intake, throttle body and tune in the near future.

I will probably be going with the NGK TR6's unless anybody has any reason not to. Seems their good up to 16lbs of boost.

Here's a shot with the hood up FINALLY! Still trying to set up a photo shoot with my buddy who does all the Dig Night stuff.

Only things I have added are the resonator delete and a K&N filter for the time being.

Dunno about a smaller blower pulley, esp on a M122. It's probably sitting at aprx 485 rwhp as is. What it needs 1st is a much bigger HE, and the IC pump from the 13/14 GT-500. If you want more power, LT's might be the ticket, plus the twin 65 /67 mm TB + 93 tune....albeit not cheap.

At least you don't have to mess with forging the eng, and a ton of other mods. The tranny is already rated for 600 ft lbs tq.
Heck it even comes with heat extractor hood vents.

It's a superb starting point. Perhaps an eaton tru-trac and maybe a BMR watts link, bob's auto sports rear axle catch can, eng catch can. Are you going to lower it ? Then toss in the new LCA's, adj UCA, and lca relocate brackets.
Did it come with the 285 rear / 255 front setup? The ones I looked at had 18" x 9.5" wide rims at all four corner's. IMO, I'd go with a bigger front tire, like a 275 or 285. With 285's on all 4 x corner's, then u could rotate front to back.

I looked at a 2008 GT-500 just a few days ago, down at the body shop, and those front 255-45-18 tires look a bit too much stretched on the oem 9.5" rims.

In Nevada, it's not even legal for a dealer to sell a vehicle (used or otherwise) with tires passed 3/32 tread, flat out illegal.

I noticed typ drag radials only come with 5/32 tread...new. That does not leave much wiggle room.

I def don't want to go the smaller pulley route. The newer '13/'14 2.3 TVS is a direct bolt on and typically nets numbers north of 600-625 to the rear wheels.

As far as the HE and IC go, I will be upgrading them. I am waiting to see what DOB is going to release and saving in the meantime! IF I find a used or take off HE I'll grab it while I wait. May end up with one of the big Afco or C&R HE's don't know about the fans or not but since I am in Houston Cooler IAT's for more consistent power will be a priority.

Not too concerned about LT's for the price and hassle if install you don't get much in return, heck the TVS swap is about the same price and nets 100+ hp more.

This is the biggest reason I went with a GT500 over a pre owned S550 or a Boss. They were all in the same price range but I knew I wouldn't be happy with the stock power numbers. The GT500 is set up to run up to 750 or so RWHP without any major work or issues. I don't know if I want to go that high but its nice knowing I can considerably easier than my other options.

I love the way it rides currently its stiff enough that it feels very planted compared to my '09 GT, but its forgiving enough that my wife and son don't complain. That being said I may lower it an inch or so, however I am really liking not having to maneuver funky to get in and out of driveways and such (I did just come from a truck too so I miss the curb hopping ability and all!)

Yes 285's in the rear and I think 255's up front is still standard but they are 19 X 9.5's on the 2010. I will be looking at doing a square set up for sure. another posibility is to get the 10" wide versions from American Muscle and get something in the 300's since traction will become an issue.

All in all I love the car. I think its the only car I have been 100% satisfied with and probably would be happy leaving it stock (I wont be) but I could and would be content. The one thing I need to change ASAP is the damn axle back.

Currently running some Pypes axle back and the drone between 1500-2000 RPM is mind numbing. Trying to decide between Corsa extremes or sports. Leaning towards sports in case I do eliminate the cats. I really haven't heard enough exhaust sound clips to decide what I want for sure.

I just know the Corsa's sound amazing on my brothers C5 Z06 which I need to get an intake and tune for so I can maybe be faster than!

Horrible picture taken from my office window. they shouldn't put zoom on a phone if its going to result in photos that look like they have been taken by a potato!

Oh I forgot I picked this up too!

I'm not a modeler by any means but I couldn't resist. Dang thing is huge! Hand for size comparison

You can put any blower made by anybody on the GT-500 manifold, that opens up loads of options for a pd blower swap. (you can also sell the oem M-122, since it's used on the DOB kit). I see that VMP now sells a high flow elbow for folks with the 13/14 GT-500 TVS-2300. DOB sez the 13/14 GT-500 HE is only $300.00 It's huge. Scroll down to post #68 to see a comparison of 13/14 gt-500 HE vs other brands. http://www.s197forum.com/forum/showthread.php?p=2262614#post2262614 The 13/14 GT-500 IC pump flows a helluva lot more than the oem Bosch pump used on the 07-12 GT-500's. Other IC pumps like the Ligenfelter will flow even more gpm.

As long as you are > 20-25 mph, IMO, you really don't need the fans on the HE, unless you are bogged down in endless red lights, or drag racing. Even then, just turn on the eng fan to high speed mode. A 305 rear tire / 275-285 front would be optimum for street use. Several of the local 13/14 GT-500 owners in town have gotten in over their heads a few times with their oem 285 rear tires. They have traction issues, and back end all over the map.

LT's work, albeit an expensive install.... esp if you are paying somebody to do it. The story I got was the head gaskets are an issue with 750 rwhp. 600 rwhp is bucket loads for street use.
