Why would it? 93 octane at the pump is 93 octane at the pump, regardless of how much ethanol is present.
Ethanol burns cooler.

got a text from my tech friend at a local ford dealer just a bit ago...
It read" "blown up coyote motor...more likely than you think"
i responded with cylinder # 8?
He called like two seconds after and asked how i knew. This is the first one they have seen at that dealer.
The car had an aftermarket tune in it and was returned to stock.
Not sure who tuned the car, but it had a major site sponsor's ''that is regularly covered in magazines'' stickers on the car.
I will try to get more information, it's suspected the altered knock sensor calibration led to the engine malfunction. I asked him how he could verify that...not sure how you could unless you saw the actual tune file.
Warranty has been voided.

Yes, that's why it is a higher octane. But 93 octane pump gas is 93 octane, period. If it has 10% ethanol, it is STILL 93 octane.

This is True and I have Warned the un-knowing that if you are Concerned over Warranty.I never knew why this was big news (I don't mean your thread tiger) just the fact that people are shocked they won't warranty an engine YOU messed up. It's been like that since forever. lol
Well the good news is I can go out and whoop ass on 5.0's and only a very few with cash to burn will take the chance to mod.. looks like I'll have to save for a slowbra
