Seeing as I am starting to climb above the OEM crank numbers on my Mustang, I figured it would be a good idea to obtain my own hand held tuner for personal use on my buddy's dyno (free use after shop hours). So I went out and got the SCT X-Cal2, and the AEM UEGO Wideband AF ratio gauge.

My questions... with the different adjustable engine parameters like spark fuel and such, how can I adjust and tune each for optimum performance at WOT, without leaning or enriching with fuel, and which would be the best adjustment for the spark... here are the specs on the adjustablility:

Global Spark Adjustment:

0000-2000: -14 to +4 Deg.
2000-4000: -8 to +4 Deg.
4000-8000: -8 to +6 Deg.

Fuel:

At WOT: 6% leaner to 20% richer.

I don't want to damage/destroy anything, but I do want to optimize for performance. Any suggestions on adjustments?

So did you get the AEM Brute Force CAI on there? Is that what you're going to tune? Not experienced enough to give you advice on this, but have seen 8-12 hp picked up by throwing a tune at a tuneless CAI. As you're trying to do, probably has more to do with tunning the motor a bit better than factory than the CAI, but every bit helps.

If you have access to the dyno, i would add alittle percent each time and watch your af ratio and adjust accordingly. If you hear any ping or detonation, back off and back off the timing.
