Two UPR K-member installs in one day.

Yes it is and for anyone with turbo piping that goes anywhere near the A arm ensure you have a BFH, a vice and one of the small butane torches!

I'm finally getting around to bolting mine in and it seams like it's cocked a little. Is this normal? I have nothing else bolted to it yet.

I can get all the bolts in but it won't line up with the motor mounts and it just seems like it will take some good force to get it to line up.

When you say the motor mounts you are talking about the bolts with the red bushings, right? The drivers side is slotted so there is play in it to get the passengers side in first.

We bolted the back two bolts-by the floorboards-then put the nuts on the studs that stayed on the car on the rails to hold it in place while we lined up everything else...we did not tighten them, just enough to hold everything in place.

Ok. Thanks I'll try that. It's like the k member has to move back about 1/4 inch and it ain't moving easy.
I'll get back at it tomorrow I have to go see some monster trucks. Lol

I know what you are talking about and yes, that is a PITA! Do you have someone else helping you? We had people moving the motor by hand and by the jack to get the drivers side motor mount bolt in!

Side note: with it bolted up there is 10x more room to do anything down there.

It will help a lot with an extra pair of hands, plus to tighten those bolts one person will be undereath the car and the other from the top.

Makes you wonder how much Ford paid someone to engineer and build the stock K member and how much it cost UPR to build theirs...in this day and age of weight reduction to achieve MPG to me this would be a no brainer unless it costs $20 per stock K member which I would find hard to believe.

I just installed mine Friday and it took all day by myself. I have one of the first 05's off the line (built in '04) and my K-member didn't line up correctly. Unfortunately working alone made this tougher than it had to be. I am so sore from wrestling the thing. The worst was rounding off one of the 18mm nuts that holds the k-member in by the shock tower and then needing to use an angle grinder to cut the nut off.

Long story short, my engine and engine mounts were about a 1/4" off fore/aft also. I had to kick the jack holding the engine until it was close, then kick the k-member back a little on the drivers side, passenger side was lined up correctly from the start. I finally used a long extension to hammer in the bolt from above. Since I have the Saleen supershaker, I took a lot of time tring to line the motor up to the hole in my hood and I am still about 1/8" off. If you look at it long enough you will notice it.

On a side note, how did you guys with long tubes tighten up the right side engine mount bolt and torque it? I ran the bolt up from the bottom and had the nut on top. I then used two wrenches and slowy tightened it up. It took forever. I tried using a wobble extension along with a univeral and still couldn't reach the nut or bolt from either side.

Sharad, this seems to be a common issue with lining up the drivers side mount. A 2005,2006 and 2010 models same issue.
Pumpkinfish we used extensions, universal/swivel and two people. Had one underneath to place the socket on the bolt that was dropped in from the top. Yes I was sore as hell for about three days after installing Greg's and mine in one day. Damn am I getting old??

My only issue now is my abs light wont go off...

So far none; Ray does not daily drive his but on a 30-40 min drive home from the install he had no more noises than before the install.
