Anyone have much experience with these? Gimmick or actually beneficial?

I wouldn't say it's a gimmick. I have something similar on the J&M lcas, as far as telling any difference, probably not. The real difference would be how long they last over regular poly bushes I would think.

Well I've got the umi PH bar and I've had to tighten them up about 3 times since the start of 10'. I almost thing they are at the end of their life too. It does start to clunk once they need tightening. I think I may go poly next time.

A joint with a one year lifespan? That's not encouraging news. I know they are rebuildable but yikes...

Yea I mean I wouldn't say its normal, but I mean once I start to hear it it gets bad real quick. I do live on a bumpy road and I drive mine every day so that could be a promoter. I'm almost wondering if I can just unscrew the roto joint ends and screw in poly ends?

Not sure. UMI would be able to tell you about that.

I have roto-joints and if I end up having to disassemble and tighten them multiple times over the course of the year I'm going to start looking at other options that don't use that delrin race lining. Once a year or every 6000K miles I'm fine but I don't wanna be screwing with it constantly especially with a street car.

Yes you can change the ends out from Poly to Roto and just the opposite way too. I found out when I asked them if they make new screw on ends since my UCA is a Poly and not roto joint. You need to make sure its for that part you want to change because not all the ends are made the same from UCA to LCA to PHB and etc. I have the Roto joint double adj PHB on mine for a year and have no issues with it. I dont know the benifits from personal experience since i havent tried a poly end PHB but i cant see it being any different except maybe a little more well protected and repairable. Maybe less movement in the bar also on that ball. Plus I think there is a grease fitting on the Rotojoints but I cant rememeber for sure
