V6 grill in GT... difference?

Hey everyone. I was wondering if you can tell me whats the difference (mounting, size, shape?) between the V6 grill and the GT grill?

Reason I am asking is that I came across a center fog grill (very VERY good deal) and looking at it closely it appears to be for a V6 (unless I'm totally wrong). Reason I say that is looking at the gap between the fogs is a little wider than all the other 'GT' center fog grills I have seen. it looks like this after much web searching ...

will it fit on a GT?

GT grilles are too big for a V6 bumper. A V6 grille is to small for a GT bumper. Everything is made smaller on the V6 model, from the engine to its grille.

iirc when i was doing the gt conversion on mine, the grill is the same size but like mister roper said, the mounting tabs dont line up.. thats one thing i did notice

is mounting tabs really off? ...I mean can I "make" it work?

I mite need to pull the GT one and lay them side by side to see. Its should take long just to test fit without moving the fogs rite?

well i just took off my GT grill and tried to line up the center fog grill i got. It definitely is for a V6. The differnce isn't so much the size but the shape is a little off on the sides and the tabs aren't the same (GT bumper and V6 bumper).... oh well so much for my awesome deal i got.

ummmm so im going to try to post up a WTT/B post for you v6 guys

There is somebody on TheMustangSource.com with the pony package grille on his GT. So it is possible, but im not sure what is required to make it work. I'll see if i cant find who it was.

it's the guy with an alloy gt with a vortech I'm pretty sure. lol, I shit you not. what a coincidence. haha. I think it's 5-oh brian.

Thanks guys. I ran into some of the post over at MustangSource and since I'm not getting any hits on the gril, I'm guna try what they did and see if i can make it work. At this point I got nothing to lose.
