Hennessey's Viper has been beaten several times. Mihovetz did a twin turbo Ford GT that beat the Viper in quarter mile, top speed, and road track times. A Mustang is not hard to do at all. The owner of ProLine Racing Engines has a '97 Cobra with an 88mm single turbo four valve 4.6 that is a daily driver and puts 940 hp to the tire. Drives the damn thing to work and back every day and outruns Huyabusas. Replace the 88mm with two 67's and you can go 1200 to the tire easily.

wow...same torque and everything?...outruns huyabusas....haha thats awesome!It doesen't surprise me at all that the viper has been beaten up...there's allways a faster car....It's just I havent heard/seen a 4.6 mustang that is safe DD to put 1000hp to the tire.....and I think that he'll be able to make that easyer if he just goes with the viper engine

Ok...if you want to get really serious about the power and want something different try this one.

Get the aluminum wet sump 5.4 block and do a big bore (3.700") destroke (3.750") engine. This would be a 322" setup and you can use a very long rod in the taller 5.4 block. Rod length could be an off the shelf setup like the 6.800" rods that most big block guys use. On top of that add the Ford GT/GT500 cylinder heads and either twin turbos or the biggest damn screw blower you can find.

...just under 1400 horsepower.

How about a ford 3V v10
then alot of the stuff can be retro fitted from a truck or van and it will still be Ford but with 400+cubes. heck have the crank offset ground and do a big bore on the v10 block have the heads cnc ported get some custom regrind cams and a sheetmetal intake twin 88's+ a PSI blower on alcohol with 20% nitro.
it all depends on your idea of streetable
seriously the ford 3v v10 would be much easier to swap in than a viper v 10. at least the bell housing and accessories would bolt up + most o the wiring would be close. i'm sure it will fit.
another idea:
swap in a crate 460cid small block pushrod motor and use the factory ecm and drive by wire. if it's an auto car PA makes a bell housing for a SBF to fit the 5r55s.

So I have been thinkin about trading out my 4.6 for a viper 8.3 v-10 or just the gt500 5.4. Its a tough adventure but i rather sell my 4.6 while its still new(4000miles). What do u guys think? A slightly used fully built v 10 is about 10-12k and i havent even checked on the 5.4. would the stock rear end be able to hold the power of the viper engine? Just give me a honest answer, i feel like im abadoning ford if i go for the v 10.

Second try paying for college, a brand new car that i paid off in 2 months (27k), a Apartment, and all the other extra crap by urself at 18 years old

Third u have to make a plan on what u wanna do too ur car, yea i dont know a shit ton about these cars but im learnin, but i know that i dont wanna slap some boost on it and add some bolt ons then realize that i want something bigger.

Fourth ppl go thru down times when they cant even afford to buy lunch. Which thank God im out of.
