Hopefully all goes we'll this time around rj. I'm still waiting in the machine shop (had my block for 1month and a week) I'm waiting to get it honed and it takes 2 days to do a block what I was told.

Well I took some stuff to the machine shop and he told me the best thing to do would be bore the block again. He said we could hone it but it "may" work due to ptw clearance and there are some deep groves in the wall. I don't want to risk it this time so I guess I will be going with flat top wisecos. I will be selling my old ones now for cheap though. Sucks :/

Will be getting these:

I'm pretty sure they don't make those anymore. Wiseco revamped their entire mod motor lineup about 6 weeks ago. Maybe modmax has some in stock? Every time I've ever tried to order from modmax they didn't have what was advertised on their website.

One time they told me I must of really went to some trouble to find the pistons I had ordered because they thought they had taken them off the website. They still charged my visa for the pistons though and I had to call them to find out what was happening a few weeks after not receiving the order I had placed.

Well hmm that sucks! I'm not sure what I'll do now. I guess I'll call before I order

That also explains why the machine shop couldn't get any .030 over pistons from wiseco

I know where a set of brand new Mahle flat tops are. They are .020 over and come with rings. The guy is selling them for $500. PM for contact info.

I found the Manley flat tops online for $590. Is there any issues with no valve relief for cams under .500 lift?

There shouldn't be. You can have a .075" relief cut by the machine shop.

Have you given any thought to -6cc pistons? They should still give you 10:1 compression and they are readily available by Manley, Wiseco, Ross, and a few others.

Actually I may go that route. They have the Manleys listed on their ebay site for $615 with a 6.5cc dish for 3v. It says .030 over makes it 10:1. If I buy rings that will still be cheaper than the Wisecos. I'm thinking wiseco stopped making .010 and .030 over and now make stock and .020 over according to their 2014 catalog.

Manley makes good products. You won't go wrong with them imo and they are skirt coated which will allow for a tighter ptb clearance and quieter cold motor operation.

Yeah I definitely want a coated skirt now! That looks like a good deal on them. I'm thinking of doing the make an offer and and offering 700.00 if they will throw in some of their rings

Yes. We measured over 500 cams, 20 degrees retarded and still had a huge gap with stock stroke. Even on a stroker, they work.

I know you time sensitive, but swaintech does awesome piston coating (top & sides).
