Im going to pick up some tint and try tinting my side markers/headlights. I went to wal mart, $10 for a huge roll. My question is what % should I get
102.gif
I want it to be blacked out, but let light through too lol. Is 5% too dark for it? I HATE when tinted lights are not dark enough. Im thinking doing my yellow corners, red side markers in back, and either my headlights or fogs. I will then get covers (yes Ik they are kinda shitty) for the tails. I just figure I can take it all off if I want very easily, and its cheap enough that I can redo any of it if it gets shitty. thoughts?

It's bound to turn blue/purple eventually. I don't think I've found proper metallic tint at Walmart yet, but maybe it has changed. Also, the stuff they carry don't flex that well, and you'll have a hard time getting it to conform to the headlights and especially fogs.

I've done 5% on the gf's indicators and side markers, and it looks nice and dark. The rest I used VHT on.

We tried the walmart tint of one of my friends girlfriends car. It's very thick and because of that hard to cut. Most of them are "static cling" if I remember correctly. We tried sticking the excess to the headlights out of boredom and it just fell off lol. I would just purchase the pre cut headlight film that many companies offer.

you can buy real tint from some tint shops.
my local shop gave me enough tint to do three motorcycle windshields for $20.
some shops wont sell it though, just gotta ask.
20% should be perfect for what your wanting, if its a true 20%, that thick wallmart crap varies from spot to spot.

Any light lens i tint is done with clear coat. Just get them prepped, wet sanded and ready to go. Then get some clear coat, and some black paint. keep adding some drops of black into the clear until you get the color you want, and spray out your lenses! a pint of clear will do a bunch of lenses.

thats how my tail's are done. looks great just got to be very careful that you do the exact same thing for both sides or one will be darker than the other.
