Wastegate/BOV with Novi 1200

So I have been searching the forums and after reading 05stroker's setup, I decided I want to wastegate my novi 1200 setup. I'll be going to the blow-thru setup and have a CXracing 3" kit sitting at home ready to go on (waiting for it to warm up in the midwest) I purchased a 38mm cheapie wastegate on ebay with a 10psi spring. And I have a Tial Q 50mm BOV.

First off, does anyone have a diagram or description of how to run the wastegate and bov together? Do I need both? I know it needs to be pre-intercooler. A bit confused on the vacuum lines as well.

Also, I want to hit 20psi but not sure which pulley to go with to achieve that. 2.87? Appreciate any and all help! Thanks guys!

Your gonna need a Paxton 2200 or a Vortech JT to hit those numbers. All you will do is overspin that 1200 and split the seals and damage those bearing. Vortech has a calc online that u can use to determine your impeller speed which I'm sure will be beyond what those bearings max out. I know cause I pushed the V3 to 18psi and it started to spit blower oil out of the rear seal.

No point, the 1200 is at its limits of efficiencey at 10psi already. If you want to do a centri wastegate setup you will need a much larger blower otherwise you are just going to make lots of heat for no power.

Ahh...I read over paxton's site and it said the 1200 was max 22psi. Thought I would be able to go this route. Even if I could get 16psi I would be happy.

Mine is a little over 17psi on a 2.95 8 rib IW 10%O.D., same Tial Q 50mm BOV and meth. It will hit 18psi as you go past 6700 rpm but the power drops and your overspinning the blower for the SL case gears & bearings that the v3 uses. In my opinion 15psi is a good number on those v3, if your looking for more I would just put a JT or 2200 head unit on.

I might have to upgrade in the future. But I'll have to blow my motor to have a reason to at least i bought the supercharger out of the blue as it was and the significant other wasn't very happy

As for the placement of the WG and BOV, I don't think it matters witch one is in front of the other sense they don't operate at the same time. I put the WG in the same pipe as the BOV just before the BOV. The vacuum line if connected to the top will give you full boost and when connected to the side it will use the spring pressure of the WG.

As for you blower, I have no experience with the 1200. Good luck.

Ok another question, since I jumped the gun on buying the wastegate, can I use the wastegate instead of the BOV? Or do I need both?

No, they don't work the same. The wastegate will limit overall pressure based on reference to spring pressure. The bov opens on a differential of pressure between each side of the throttlebody when it shuts (pressure/vac reference from manifold to the bov and pressure on the bov valve in the piping).
