Installed the tial wastegate today. No changes to how/when the boost builds.

Have you tried using the boost controller yet?
Are you using the same spring or did you change to a different spring when you put in the new wastegate? Do you have any other springs that you can swap to to see how they behave?

I installed the boost controller a few weeks ago. I've also used several different spring combinations. Not really sure what to try next, if anything.

I'm wondering if there is something about the Comp turbine wheel that is holding these cars back. Has anyone tried a bigger turbine wheel with a comp turbo?

The powerhouse kit precision turbo has a 75mm exhaust wheel (67mm compressor) in a 0.81 housing and every account I've seen with the powerhouse kit and this head unit (mine included) sees full boost by 3000.

With as many issues as we have seen lately, maybe it's just flat-out the wrong turbo for the application?

Interesting observation. I don't know how many others have boost issues with their comp turbos. I wish i had another turbo to test out and see if it changes at all. I've been contemplating stepping up to something bigger already though.

Didn't we have someone just a few months ago with building boost problems and it turned out that his intercooler was the problem?

Not sure. I would be interested in seeing the thread if there was one. I also just noticed that weather man is having a lot of back pressure issues with his comp turbo. I believe his is the same as mine, CT 6765.

Im going to be trying a different turbo in the next week or so. Fuel is being extremely generous and is going to let me try his turbo and see if anything changes.

I thought the outcome was that the intercooler didn't help, it was Sprayer84 that had the troubles.
All these threads make me appreciate the work Mike Bowen and the guys at powerhouse put into their kit.

The duplicate replacement did not help. The bigger replacement did.

Finally got around the installing Fuels precision 6765 that he let me borrow. Boost builds much earlier now and im seeing full boost by 3500rpm. It's probably even sooner but i was trying to back and forth between the boost gauge and tach. I don't think there is anything actually wrong with the comp turbo. It just doesn't seem to be a good fit for this application. Both turbos are 6765. The precision has a much larger compressor housing. Im thinking the comp is too small and causing backpressure issues. Here's a side by side comparison.

Can you take a side by side of the exhaust sides showing from the end and from the top just to get a look at the differences?

From that pic I would say that the precisions turbine inlet looks larger from right off the flange to almost 1/2 the way around. What a/r is your comp? The precision is .81

The more i look at it the more obvious it becomes. The comp is .68 . I went with the smaller a/r because i was told it would help build boost faster.

this is the area I am referring to. I am not a turbo engineer either though..
