Weird sounds from behind AC/heater controls

Probably already a thread if so please just point me in that direction. Basically just sounds like something electrical almost like you would expect the radio to pop open like an electronic door. I said ac/heater but it really is the entire center area behind radio, air controls even sounds like it's under the shifter.

It is most likely a "blend door actuator" acting up. They control the air in the HVAC system and there are 3 of them. Search for guides on replacing them.

+1. One of the blend door motors is broken inside.
If the noise is there upon turning on the key, it's probably the defrost or the vent/floor control. If it only does it upon temperature change, it's the blend door on lower passenger side (easist to get to). If it does it when turning recirculate on or off, it's the recirculate door.
I've changed more of the defrost ones than any others.

That means there are 5 if you have zoned output I guess. Is there much change or any in 2010 or newer s197's as far as actuator location or replacement? You are the king of actuators for sure.
