Used some reclaimed wood from a local horse racetrack (Rockingham Park in Salem NH) that was sold/closed, and made a coat hook rack and hat shelf for the entrance:

Built a tire rack today, made out of 2x4's and a whole bunch of 3" screws, secured to the wall as well.
Two tire shelves and a heavy duty top shelf.

And I lucked out and had enough space next to the wheels/tires for my stack of wood cribbing that I sometimes use when I lift a car (if I don't have to take off the tires, I use the wood and set the tires down on the wood pieces).

Now I have to figure out what to do with all the room I freed up in the garage, lol.

I then removed the small shelf above the new rack, used some of that shelf for a new smaller shelf above the higher set of tires, and also put up a few hooks for my cat-delete pipes and some extra exhaust clamps I have, and I completely filled the top shelf with all kinds of heavy crap.

Thanks!

yesterday I built a holder for my weed wacker, so it no longer stands near my car in the garage!

I just used a cheap hook. Works great without the 2x4 look.

Great idea guys, hanging the weed wacker, I have a couple and have been shelving them. Hanging them would make a lot more room for car parts!

Brain, any idea where you picked up your hook?

Gabe, BTW nice job on the tire storage. I built about 24+' of tire storage in the back of the garage hanging from the rafters but I am too old and weak to get tires up and down and need to engage the kids (grown adults) but trying to get them to actually do it takes weeks!

I picked up the hooks at HD or Harbor Freight, not sure which. I'm sure you can find them at any hardware store, Wal Mart, Amazon, etc.

I have a few of those hooks hanging around, just never thought of using one for that, just went with something similar to what I saw on Pinterest, lol.

Thanks Scott, and yeah that looks great but I don't have the height to do that, nor do I want them that high.
I love the new rack, the tires are easily accessible, and I can easily add hooks to the rack itself.

Today I picked up 32 more 2x4 8' studs and 2 sheets of 3/4" plywood, for 2 shelving units I'll be building starting tomorrow

Got one new shelving unit built today, wish I made the spacing between the shelves about 2-3" taller, but I'll have to do that on the next one, cuz I'm not taking this one apart:

Also built a new cat tree, kinda copied one off Pinterest.
Still need to carpet it, but much happier with this one than the first one which has now been disassembled.

My Ariens 28SHO with "auto turn" was a pain to keep straight because the slightest resistance from one of the metal skids it would think I was trying to turn. The poly skids from them are $35. How about $3 plastic cutting board, drill & dremel? It's like a different machine, I can run it one handed now. Also got to play with teh snowtoys

Lol, that's awesome! Great job on the makeshift skids ... mine came with plastic and metal ones, I took the metal ones off almost right away.

This year we've been getting visited by several flocks of wild turkeys, which now seems to be 1 flock of 25, and they roost overnight in the tall trees behind the house.

Got a video of them coming down from the trees yesterday morning, and a video of them going up yesterday evening:

In the house, Saturday I built another shelving unit (ran out of plywood so I went yesterday and got more). Had to make it a bit narrow since there's a 2'x3' hole in the basement floor to the left of it, where the previous owner had a sump pump installed, and there's an access panel there for it that I still want to be able to get to.

I am thinking I'm gonna make another shelf unit to fit on top of the sump pump area, with no bottom shelf, allowing me room in case I have to work there, but still allowing me to store things on top like the shop-vac.

It's this or some people have put a roller wheel in the skid.. I figured this was easier & cheaper to test

Neat on the turkey's, I only get them coming through sometimes and not roosting like that. I just put up bird feeder last week and I'm loving that so far, although seems they are sorting through for sunflower seeds so I'll have to add more to the mix.

I do have a redtail hawk that sits around the yard which is awesome, unless it's screeching above my bedroom window early on weekend mornings, or flying few feet over my head to see what I'm doing

neat.

my wintering birds have been Anna's humming birds. I've had to insulate my nectar feeders and either cycle them inside to thaw, or on really cold days i put a trouble light beneath it to keep it from freezing. They have no other food than feeders (its an artificial ecological niche), so they would die if I stopped.

Looking good^^

Signed realtor contract last week - listing our house for sale by end of this month. Time to do some paint touch up and get this place cleaned for showing.
