Got tired of liking at the broken dashboard defrost vents and ordered a kit from eBay.
It’s not perfect but better than looking at a hole with broken grates. Now need to figure out how to cover the dash cracks?

Could you post the Ebay seller info? I have the same issue on my car's dash.
I ordered a custom dash cover from Covercraft to do to my dash for the same reason as to what you're wanting to do.
Thought I already had a picture snapped of it, but I don't.............will get 1 coming.

Kinda figured it was cheaper thus hoping that he was still listed & selling.
Posted picture of my dash cover from Covercraft in prior posting...............this cover will actually cover any dash vent replacement piece I install so won't look out of place. This cover is Covercraft's DashSuede design.........do make a carpet design to match the interior carpet.......attaches to dash using Velcro & has UV treatment to supposedly keep underneath dash from getting further destroyed..............haven't checked to see if this is true.........kinda don't care as the damage has already been done, so as long as the cover holds up I'm good.

FYI for those so interested.....................
Checked all this one last time after a couple of instances of performing 2 1\4mi WOT runs under full engine loads...........system is tested\verified fully rock stable now, cold coolant level is consistently stable in middle of cold fill range & hot coolant level is holding consistently stable at the top line of the cold fill level range w\ HVAC on (running AC as temps are getting into summer up here in the US 4 Corners area......) & running.......radiator hoses are fully pressured up & solid feeling & not a peep of any evidence of antifreeze seeping\dripping anywhere under\behind the IM or coming out under degas bottle cap (cap has the pressure\vacuum relief valve in it..........). Coolant level essentially hasn't moved after the 1st night cooldown & morning check after work was finished so she's verified a done deal.
The Dorman metal heater hose connectors are the real deal & IMHO THE permanent remedy to this incessant S197 GT coolant leak.......while retaining the OEM original design ability to unlatch\relatch these connectors multiple times w\o issue.
Provided below is a tool that can save you a LOT of grief when replacing the connectors located at the heater core\firewall................Lisle 37160 85* Multi-Purpose Disconnect Pliers (bought thru Amazon but can be found in some auto parts stores in their tool sections.........if stocked that is......). I bought these after this work was finished to ensure going forward that I had the right tool to easily deal w\ these heater hose connector latches against the firewall & other connectors as well (double button connectors......used on some vehicle fuel rails, fuel filters & PCV systems as well as some electrical connectors, etc...........). Lisle makes a 45* version of this tool (37140) if also desired........I'll probably pick this 1 up as well sometime later on...........
When you start having to suffer w\ carpal tunnel in both wrists like I have from yrs of repetitive motion stress in both hands, these tools start looking good to have.........that is if you plan on doing as much of your own DIY maintenance\repairs as long as you can physically do it..........which I certainly plan on doing.

Guilty as charged. My issue was the defrost "vent" had cracked, but only enough to rattle...annoyingly. i actually used hemostats to remove all the fins and the metal one (using vct) perfectly covered the, now gaping, opening. About as good as I could have imagined.

Off topic: MDs like to diagnose carpal tunnel syndrome, because they can generate lots of money with a hand surgery. Often it is a thoracic outlet syndrome which can be treated by physiotherapy and simple shoulder workout instead.

I put together 2 emergency repair kits for our Mustangs for the clutch master cylinder rod eyelet that is known to break, rendering the car undrivable usually.
This kit would allow me to remove the broken plastic piece, install the aluminum replacement piece held in place with a set screw, and drive away.
These are now in the glove boxes, "just in case".

I swapped out the Borla Stingers for the Borla Touring. And went over the entire exhaust tightening up all the clamps. The pic of the quickjack was at the lower setting when I took the pic. I raised it to the max height when I went over the entire system.

Plan on asking my physical therapist at my next scheduled appointment for this lower leg tendonitis rehabilitation for any home exercises\therapy to do to help relieve the pain\stress going forward.............
How do you like them? Mine are nice and quiet at 60mph but the resonance at idle was HORRIBLE with my long tubes. I had some resonators put in which helped but it wasn't till I got the centri that it finally got better. Still pretty bassy at idle but not nearly as bad as it was.

I am not sure. I haven't even taken it out yet with all the foul weather here. I don't drive this car in the rain. I am sure they will tone down the exhaust some but I know I still have more work to do to make it suit my tolerance. My warm idle was actually tolerable even with the Stingers but once I got to 1500RPM+ the groan was a bit obnoxious. If these help that mid range rpm drone some, than I will be happy. We shall see. I am expecting an improvement but nothing perfect. Once I see how it performs, I will make more adjustments if necessary.
As for me, haven't seen my car in a month and a half while the tuner figures out why emissions checks won't complete. Right now they think it's a problem with the rear o2's not sending any signal. I told them I wasn't getting any readings on them when I dropped it off but they still tried every drive cycle in the book to try to get stuff to complete. They said the rears are definitely turned on in the tune so they're going to look at the wiring harness as soon as they have a lift free.

Lol, It's a 1982 so right in that era. Just slightly older than me, but was my dad's so had it around since 1st grade. Great bike to ride, V4 powerband is fat from 3500 all the way to 10k RPM and really easy handling
