I probably could've made something my self. It's fairly simple. It's just a felt with tape on the back side. I'm sure any soft fabric could work with some double sided tape. For me it was worth it because I'm lazy lol. Haven't really had the chance to see if it will last and keep it from scratching the tint though, so...

Service advisor at a local dealership said Ford had a fix for the scratched tint: softer moldings. He quoted me like $200 for both sides, parts and labor. Needless to say I passed and my tint is still scratched to hell. When I redo the tint, I'll definitely look into that $30 fix, seems well worth it, thanks for the link

I never thought of this, my passenger side window has a straight scratch on the outside caused by this.

horrible customer service.

i gave them a couple extra weeks beyond their time estimate, called them up because i didn't have the parts. they said it was delivered and since they shipped USPS, they couldn't provide any info on who it was delivered to (they had my correct address). i live in an apt, so if a package won't fit in my PO box, the mailman leaves a note and i have to pick it up from either the apt office or the post office. i got no such note and nobody had the package. when i sent them this update via email, i never heard back from them again.

that's when i started the chargeback on my credit card. low and behold, as soon as that happened, there was a shift knob in the mail. by this time it was a good 4-5 weeks over the initial ETA. since my part showed up, i canceled the chargeback.

their product isn't quality. the "polished" base for the knob was scratched to hell in mere days... i'm not hard on my stuff either, so if it wears that much in my care, i'd hate to see it in real world conditions. tie that in with the crappy service and it just isn't worth what they charge. that's why i make sure i tell people about it when i see them pop up on the forums.

haha After 5 years of ownership, I've come to a point where I honestly don't give a shit. I just drive the damn thing these days and that's it. Wash and vacuum it maybe once every 2-3 months and keep up with the scheduled maintenance.

It's been parked outside 24/7 since I've purchased it so it's kind of a lost cause. Maybe I'll change my habits once I finally purchase all the detailing stuff I'm compiling a list of.

Man, you may want to take it to a professional detailer and let them work their magic. An old ex-gf of mine from a few years back had an Audi A4 that she didn't take good care of. It was a sweet car, too, and I got so tired of seeing it filthy, I took it to a detailer and for about $150 IIRC, maybe even less, they had the thing lit'rally looking showroom new. I mean, the thing was so bad, I tried to do the work myself, but quickly realized that it was too far gone for me to help. I'm talking dried God-only-knows-what in the carpets and the crevaces between the seats and the console.

Those guys did amazing things with that car.
