Brian you are right about that, BAMA is still the best bang for the buck, especially if you haven't done any other mods to the car and just want a little more. Or if your new to the modding world, or if you need to buy a tuner anyway. And yes, I caught the sarcasm.

That is one great color right there. But, I just can't make myself like those cars. Saw one sitting at the dealership yesterday right by the Fusion's. It did not stand out at all. Think I'll wait until they evolve a little more!

installed my trans mount that I filled with 94a urethane.

I was already to make a DIY thread with pics and all.

but the results were not what I expected. at anywhere over 2500rpm the car vibrates so hard I can hear shit in the dashboard and the doors vibrating. The vibration is worse then driving over a rumble strip.

I have owned and driven in cars that had solid mounts that were not this violent.

without blowing you up with all the tech nerdy science shit the theory right now is that with my stiff mount near the center of the motor and the soft stock 85k mile motor mounts far from the center I have created an action-reaction pair that is actually multiplying my vibration.

I have a che brace that has been collecting dust for a year that I will put in to see if I am right, but need some hardware.

next step is to drill holes in my urethane filling, next step is put the stock mount back in until another plan has been devised.

Haha, I distorted the crap out of my trans mount and had to order a new one. I have an old t56 with a Swarr adapter. It uses the trans mount from a 96 mustang. I bent it a little bit.

Plus one to Bama being a decent tune for stock or lightly modified cars. My experience was less than stellar after I got my cams and manifold though. Car ran like shit! WORD bring out that ky yo tee! My little 3v stomps them on the streets!

First mod on the new car, reused my old MRT hood struts. Discovered the dumb air tube mounts interferes as well as the washer fluid tube on the other side. Both relatively easy to work around.

yeah with the factory mount out of the car and in my hand to squeeze, stretch, and twist its no surprise people are having a hard time shifting at high rpm. I can't believe how soft that thing is.

What do you plug off the hole on the intake tube with? Just a rubber cap? Is there anything behind the dash that can be removed as well if it's part of the whoosh-sound apparatus?

The intake can be plugged with a rubber cap bought at a hardware store. Nothing on the inside under the dash to mess with.

Darren, is that the correct part number? that isn't a body plug, that is a master cylinder gasket? Just want to make sure as I wanted to plug the hole... I just covered it with electrical tape when I removed mine.

That's an actual pic of the part I bought. I printed it off my computer and went to O'Reillys and bought it.

Yes that is the correct part. As far as the air intake, get a cap from home depot or lowes. I dont remember the size but its somewhere on this forum.

Well, all my science tech nerd shit was correct. adding more hard bushings with the CHE brace actually greatly reduced NVH.

but I can still feel that pulsing under my ass at over 2500rpm. also on they highway I get this hummmm..........[quiet for 2 seconds].....hummmmm....

I think 94a just does not work for filling the mount on these cars. if you look at other cars for examples they only have to fill cracks and crevices, on the 3v you are filling this whole huge area and increasing the surface apply between the top and bottom greatly. I would like to take the time to drill holes but I am a busy guy and the car works now. I am probably going to order 60 hardness urethane and do the stock mount. 60 is advertised as being on the low end, but think about how much surface area is being used. and 60 hardness is for shit sure harder then the stock rubber.
