I noticed someone started a thread on the 11+ sixers and was wondering what people were getting with their 05-09 sixers.

Via Dash
Highway 22-23 MPGs
City 16 MPGs

If i had a GT i wouldn't care, but when the newer sixers are getting 32 on the highway i want to make sure im not doing something wrong or that my car isn't acting up.

My 2005 Mustang V6 (auto) only got slightly better gas mileage than my current GT does.

I can squeeze about 27mpg hwy out of my blown '07 V6, with 3.73s. The new 3.7 V6 is a much more efficient engine than the old 4.0.

I can pull 28mpg highway driving light footed. Even with a full tank worth of heavy footed driving I pull 26mpg out of my 05 V6 4.10 Geared 8.8 5sp

I averaged 28 MPG on a trip to Kentucky, I average 23-24 daily driving, with 3:31 gears using midgrade. I average 19-21 with the 4:10's and 16 lbs boost.

The best I've ever gotten was 28.5 hwy, all stock '09 with 87 octane and a/c turned off. I generally avg 20 city/ and 24-26 hwy depending on what MPH I set the cruise at.

That's measuring mpg the old fashioned way too, I don't trust the electronic gadgets to be very accurate for mpg, they usually just "infer" the amount of gas consumed by interpreting data from the engine. Sometimes they're pretty close but other times they can be off 3 or 4 mpg.

I knew there wasn't great difference in mpg between the 4.6 and 4.0. My choice of a V6 car was due to purchase price not MPG, but with as much as the price of gas went up since I bought the car I've been salivating over the new 3.7, 100 more hp AND better mpg, what a deal!
