Your trap speed is a little low might be a problem in tune, a/f. With a good d/a , 60ft those mt et and no other mods u definetly should see a lower 1/4 et. As far as additonal mods to help lower your times some lcas, relocation brackects and gears should help alot as stated.

well being lowered is hurting you some, but still the car should be able to pull better 60s

for the burnout - 2nd gear 55 mph for 3-4 seconds and good smoke - if your bogging @ 16psi raise that some 18 or so, you want to find a balance with pressure so you hook and go

dump at 5000 and hold on

as to power shifting, its harder on the drive line then the motor - gotta do it fast and near the limiter so the RPMs dont go crazy

lol would rather spend the 20 bucks on the car...and the tune is nothing special...jus tuned on the dyno for the cai i have,91 octane...nothing higher around where i live unless you go race gas which is about 8 bucks a gallon right now...and i dont know shit as far as tuning, havent messed with the tuner cuz have no idea what im doing, the tune i have is set up for the nitrous system i have, but am not using at the time...the timing is retarded 6 degrees...
which cai are u running ? dont tell me the k&n cai and some mild tune.

If that's the tune you're currently using with a N/A engine(no NO2), then your engine's power output is not being maxed, and that's contributing to the high e.t. problem.

yea ive been considering suspension, but besides upper and lower control arms, what else, shocks and struts?my cars lowered also...but am also thinking about losing weight in the car, swaybar delete, skinnies in the front,etc...and yea have heard alot about Matt D up here, heard he can bang gears pretty good,so what makes him better than any other ppl on here...

yup you guessed right, its not a custom tune, jus tuned for the cai...thats about it...

Yeah, UCA and LCAs are a good start, some springs if you want, stockers for drag racing are good and plenty for now. Change out to QA1s (not cheap), get the BMR anti rollbar kit, and like STKJOCK said, do a second gear burnout.

Oh, and about Matt D.. lol. he's not better than anyone on here, cool guy as well, but he sure as fuck can drive better than most. :omfg:

someone had mentioned you might have a nitrous tune, and you've only been running on motor. that could easily be your problem right there.

lol...no not quite...its a granatelli cai.

i was told that also but wouldnt know how or where to start changing parameters on the tuner to set it up for a good n/a tune.

Correct me if I am wrong. You said your tune is set-up for nitrous, and your timing is retarded 6 degrees, yet you are not running nitrous. I believe this would be one of your main problems. I raced another S197 at Barona who's tune was set-up for nitrous. His timing was retarded 4 degrees, yet his bottle was empty. I easily beat him by 1.5 to 2 car lengths due to his timing being off 4 degrees.

You should be able to easily advance the timing by 6 deg. with your tuner. However, the A/F ratio may also need adjusting since it's normally set up differently for NO2 than for N/A, and that should be done either on a dyno or with a wideband tool.
A less expensive option is to get a N/A tune from one of the major suppliers(BamaChips, Brenspeed, Tillman), assuming you use either a Predator or SCT tuner.

Suspension will help, but not needed. I still run on bone stock suspension and cut 1.6s on lowering springs. Just need to know how to launch the car.

I was cutting 1.74s when my car had just CAI and tune.

4.30s would def be the best mod to help your ET. However you should still be able to run a 13.0 with that setup.

I went 13.30 on 18s on street tires with just CAI and off road H. With pullies, MT's and the lighter wheels i wouldnt even be suprised if you could hit 12s. I would shift at about 6200

Alright so ive been on this site for about 2-3 weeks now and have been reading up and seeing alot of ppl on here running well into the 13's on almost stock setup's and street tires...and i need to now what the fuck you guys are doing that im not!!!i've got an 06 gt 5 speed, stock 3.55's,cai,pulley's,off road H wit corsa's,tuned with a predator and have a pair of m.t. et streets i use for the track on greg weld racelites.weld's 17x9.5 m.t. 26"x11.5...(also got a zex 100 shot but not in use currently due to stupid ass window switch problems)...but the best ive been able to due (without the spray) is: 1.946 60', 5.761 330, 8.894 1/8, and 13.799 @101.35mph...im launching at about 5k and shifting around 6k(i know not much of a technique)...barely started racing a couple months ago and got about 10 trips to the track under my belt, and i know all that practice makes perfect bullshit, but i think any input from you guys would be alot more helpful...

your car might need a driver upgrade :beerdrink:
