So I just picked up this 2011 5.0 2 weeks ago and I have been wondering why my rims have this black shit on them. The guys at the dealership said it came to them that way and I washed the car obviously but it looks to me as if somebody tried their own little design or somehow it got dirty and sat for awhile and stuck on there. Anybody have any idea what the deal is?? The pictures aren't the greatest but the middle one shows the black shit the best, the first one was to show that even my brembo calipers are kinda stained and dirty looking. Maybe I should just complete it and black them out fully lol

The window sticker says it has premium 19" painted rims, but I have never seen these wheels like this. It is on all 4 rims too and looks pretty much the same on all four. The sucky thing is it looks pretty cool but everybody thinks it's dirt/brake dust

It won't come off?
All I have tried to do is wash it and I washed it with a sponge or whatever I would normally use on any other rim. And I also tried to press hard on it with my finger and kinda rub it off as if it was grease but it's as if it is underneath a clear coat

I can try to get better pics if anybody really needs them

You accepted the car like that? I'd make them replace them all. That's not right. Those are expensive wheels that you paid for.

Something got sprayed on that should not have been. The dealer needs to make it right. That is an expensive fix.

Looks like someone tried to clean it with degreaser. One of the car washer at the dealership I work at sprayed degreaser on the rims and completely messed them up looking how yours does. They had to send the rim out to get refinished.

Ya I would take it back and have them fix it. Either get them refinished or a new set of rims. No way they should deliver a car like that.

Do you know if they had the car washed before you picked it up. I know sometimes when you buy a new car they wash it for you.

Well i noticed it when I first went to look at the car, and then I ended up getting it so they detailed it and the shit was still on there so I didn't know if that was something ford did since my car is already black and I haven't seen a brembo 11 up close. I was thinking damn that's kinda a wack paint job but whatever.

I'll tell the dealership about it and that I want it fixed

Yep, something caustic was applied that shouldn't have been because it not only ruined the finish on the Brembo wheels but ruined the finish on your expensive Brembo calipers.

It's a used vehicle. Unless you got some kind of warranty from the dealer other than the remainder of the 36/36,000, I'd think you're SOL.

Warranties don't cover cosmetic problems. It's really kind of good faith if they fix it, but if it was there when the guy traded it in, they knocked his value for it and that was probably reflected in the price you paid for it.

Either way that sucks. More so the calipers than the wheels
