I'll probably put the smaller pulley on at some point just to do it. Or, more likely I'll purchase a 2.3 tvs during a moment of insanity.

This is on 8 psi? That's impressive!

If you can fit a 2.9 whipple, that's the route I'd go. Just did a 2.9 whipple swap on a friends '03 cobra. Only thing done to the motor is long tubes and the 2.9 with the 3.5" pulley that it comes with. It made 625/580 on 17.5psi, pulling to 6500rpm. This is on 91 octane and a max of 16 degrees spark. Lots left in it just as it sits. We had to wait 30 minutes to let the car cool down to make that pass lol, it was 100 degrees ambient in the shop, car was heat soaked to death.

If not, I'm sure a TVS would still make impressive power.

569/509 SAE corrected. 585/523 STD and Uncorrected. SAE total is 1079.12. Hammeron guessed the closest.

Wow, I was way off!

It didn't run out of fuel but I didn't put the smaller pulley on. I'm sorry but arthritis pain almost had me canceling the appointment all together. Pulley swap just didn't happen.

Booooooooooooooooo:chainsaw:

It looks like this little blower is most efficient up to 6k and then it drops off. I'm thinking it has something to do with my combo of bore, stroke, and total displacement along with the ported heads and blower cams.

Yeah, it's the combo, You're only spinning the blower 15,322rpm. It's having a hard time keeping up with the combo at high RPM. A stock GT500 spins the blower to 15,500rpm so you are still short of "stock".

The blower would have kept up with the smaller pulley

Does anyone know what a GT500 with the M122 makes at 8psi? It probably isn't that low of boost from the factory. My displacement is only about 8 cubic inches less.

Stock GT500's make about 8-8.5psi. So you have them beat on power by quite a bit.

2013 GT500 TVS's will make 700 at the wheels all day on pump. With his combo he could get silly.

For a street car I would rather run a TVS than a TS.

Those TVS's are no joke!

I didn't know the '13 TVS could be swapped to a DoB manifold. Why bother with a Heaton M122 at all!

I'm insanely jealous of his big bore motor. I've wanted to do a big bore motor for a long time, but I don't want the iron boat anchor and sleeving the 4.6 block makes me nervous. (makes my wallet nervous too lol)

It's only 70 or so more pounds. Not a big deal at all. The M122 was $535 shipped with a tb and cai. I'd much rather have a tvs but the same combo with a tvs is around $1800. Prices are starting to come down as Shelby starts modifying more 2013 and 14 GT500s and putting them on ebay.

Iats didn't get over 120 or so during the pull. Running e85 insures no detonation will occur. The little blower does everything I need it to. Truth be told I'd really like to have a 2.3 or 2.9 Whipple on it. I'll settle for a TVS though, lol. Maybe I'd prefer the tvs after running one for awhile. The people who have them don't complain about much and seem to like them.

I was the first to run a 2013 tvs on my dob manifold. Cost is reason most do not put it on initially. Tvs price swings pretty dramatically. Sen them go for $1500-$2000 for new takeoff with elbow. Other reason is stock internals. You have to forge the bottom end to use it. Also requires bigger cai and fuel system, clutch etc. I maxed mine out at 752 corrected on a dynojet. Was running a 2.44" upper and 10%od lower shifting at 7k. The tvs eats much better up top than the m122.

Most fishing boats use anchors that weigh less than 70lbs! :roflmao:

The Boss block also has a fat price tag, however, it is a tempting solution for me when considering whether I want to keep my '08 or buy a coyote. I can't see forging the 4.6 as it stands when I could dump it all, buy a coyote and FI to make what my 4.6 would with another $8k in her and lots of boost. Your motor is keeping up with the stock coyote psi for psi, but you've also got FRPP heads and a cam to tack on to the cost. There are still other factors, the buck doesn't just stop at the motor. Even if I could make coyote power per psi on a boss block, my 3650 won't put up with that abuse forever. I'll still need to stick another $2k or more into a tranny. I guess I'll have to decide if I'm a 3v die-hard or not when it comes time. If you ever sell your long block, I'm only a 10 hour drive away! :thumb2:

It's about $1210 from a dealer. Not bad for a brand new block with the main bolts. I don't think it would cost any more to make a Big Bore 304 cubic inch motor with a stock crank than it would to make a 298 inch stroker. The stock crank is lighter than the stroker crank too. Not 70lbs but the two center counterweights aren't there, they have to be worth at least 10lbs. BTW the GT500 crank doesn't have center counterweights. Just throwing that out there for anyone wondering what difference it makes. Go with an aluminum flywheel and the difference is even less.

No matter what you do the rest of the drivetrain will eventually need upgrading. I think the only thing that wouldn't need it would be the 5.0 auto.

Bruce I have seriously considered trying out the new gen2 vmp tvs. Tvs is such an amazing street car setup. Some were turned off from the other tvs cause they normally max out around 700-750. I bet the gen 2 vmp will see over 800 no problem which is big Whipple territory but the benefits of a roots blower vs twin screw. Whole lot cheaper also as the new vmp gen2 will bolt directly to the dob manifold. The r-spec is wicked in every way but that does not come cheap.

Do you know what is Justin selling them for? I'd also need to get a pmas sensor if I put a tvs on. The stock maf was hitting almost 4.7 volts during todays dyno session. I'd probably also need a different clutch. Very impressed with the Exedy so far.

The internet really changes reality. In reality the car is very powerful with 569. Powerful enough that the ContiPro summer tires had to be switched for drag radials just for street driving. Otherwise wot was blowing them off. Powerful enough that anyone riding in the car can't believe how fast it is. 20 years ago a car with this much power wouldn't be streetable. In fact it wouldn't be possible without a custom block. But on the internet it's just so so at best.

But I digress. I want a tvs for the lower iats, lol. I'm pretty sure that 700+ is easily doable with my setup and a tvs. But what's the point? More than likely I'll keep browsing ebay and one day a 2.3 tvs will be around $1200. That's when I'll probably buy one.

When does your Whipple setup get completed?
