Hey guys, so I want to replace my stock TB and im wondering which one to go with that will work best with my setup. I have a 2006 GT with the Whipple H.O. kit pushing about 20lbs @ 5600, and a Aluminator short block. I will be adding FRPP Hot Rod cams soon also. I have been looking at the BBK and the FRPP throttle bodies and as far as i can tell there isn't really much of a difference aside from the FRPP being complete. Any help, suggestions, or advice would be great. Thank you in advance.

Asking which part to buy is not tech. These type of threads go in Mustang chit-chat. This is specifically stated in the STICKY threads at the top of the tech forums (those important threads you're supposed to read before posting a new thread).

But to answer your question, the only one to consider is the 62mm Ford Racing throttle body. Absolutely stay away from the BBK. If you can swap out your intake elbow for one with the GT500 bolt pattern, then go with the GT500 Ford Racing 65mm throttle body or the VMP 67mm throttle body. With a twin screw blower the bigger the better.

Chit chat; if you read the threads in tech you should be able to see the differences.

To answer your question, there are 3 options; BBK 62mm, GT 500 which is 60mm and the FRPP TB which is 62mm. The BBK is known to have issues if your tuner does not know how to adjust for it, the first batch of them that came out had some issues with the internal parts but they should be out of existence by now; they are a direct bolt on-no adapter plate needed and can be found used relatively cheap.

The GT 500 is easy to tune for since Ford built the files and tuners can easily grab the data; they require and adapter plate and then you have to hog out the holes to get them to line up. You will need a larger coupler which can be a challenge.

The FRPP is a bolt on, shiny piece which some people enjoy, easy to tune for since Ford did the software but are expensive.

money would be better spent on a better cam than HRs

reminder then:

Concur; the tight LSA that the HR's give are not condusive for FI; the exhaust side does not stay open that long which gives it the chop, you want cams to stay open as long as possible on a FI application to get the air out.

If you want to save money by not buying FI blower cams just stick with the stock cams.

You can't be serious.

OP, the 62mm frpp is the only one I know of that will fit on a whipple. It's a good mod for a pd blower because the air is sucked through the tb. On a centri it doesn't make much difference because the air is being blown through it.

I had decent gains with the frpp tb on a whipple. It also made 1 more psi.

As stated earlier, stay AWAY from the BBK throttle body. It gave me nothing but issues and kept throwing my car into limp mode....
