So i got my Whipple in the mail today, I'm going to start later tonight after i relocate the IAT sensor. Ill post some pics later, but for now I have a few questions.

Is the number 2 drivers side front intake runner a good spot to relocate the IAT sensor? I had seen a few people do that and figured it would be easiest so i don't have to run extra wire.

Also are those of you who are blown running a heavier weight oil? I have breathers right now, but was thinking the factory recommended 5W-20 might still cause some blow by.

Where are you Whipple guys finding the best price for extra belts? i dont want to be stuck without one but don't want to pay out the ass either.

For a stock rotating assembly would you guys recommend upgrading the factory belt tensioner? Was thinking about the Thump_RRR piece.

Spark plug removal. I'm going to follow the TSB but its still sketchy, ive got 29k on my 06 and will lose it if i break off a plug. Any other tips to make sure that doesn't happen?

Ill be heading to VMP for tuning early next week if all goes well this weekend.

mods if you think this would be better in Tech feel free to move it :)

In the mail? That's must be one pissed off mailman!

That's were I put mine. Just to be sure of exactly where you are placing it, take a good look to ensure clearance.

Also are those of you who are blown running a heavier weight oil? I have breathers right now, but was thinking the factory recommended 5W-20 might still cause some blow by.

I went with breathers on both VC and the oil filler. 5w-20 with no problem.

Where are you Whipple guys finding the best price for extra belts?

Rock Auto is good. NAPA in a pinch, but they had to ship mine up from Miami the next day. Either way plan on about 45-60.

Yes and good choice on the Thump RRR. You may want to make plans for a full 8-rib system too. You'll be there eventually!

I did my spark plugs when I installed my Roush TVS and have about 33,000 miles. Put some liquid wrench or PB blaster into the spark plug holes. Let it sit for alil. What I did was break loose each plug, put more fluids in, let it sit for about 5-10min, then turned each plug about qtr of a turn until it got tight. Put more fluids in, wait, and repeat. They'll screech and sound horrible. Take your time and don't rush. Just make sure to keep the ratchet, ext, and socket straight and not cockeyed.

Congrats! I have yet to throw a belt (stock tensioner) in almost 2 years and many track passes. VMP also dynotuned mine.

-random question, you didn't happen to be at Cocoa beach 2 weeks ago? I was parked on a side street next to a mustang similar to yours.

- IAT: I drilled & tapped the back driver's side of the intake, but I don't see any issues with where you want to mount it.

- I ran the Mobil 1 5W20 for the last 2-3k miles and recently jumped upto the Mobil 1 5W30 about 100 miles ago. I'm running a catchcan on the driver side.

- There's a seller on Ebay (based about an hour from me) who sells them at a decent price. ($50-$60)

- I plan on going with the Thumper RR later this year.. after my clutch.

Yessir Easter weekend at Coconuts? I had my new grille on (black 9 bar billet). Matter of fact i think i remember seeing a red mustang walking back to my car.

I had seen the relocation thread, thanks.

Also any of you guys know the proper belt size off the top of your head?

Yup, def your car then! I had to take a few minutes to look it over before I headed out to the beach, very clean! The whipple is going to compliment it's appearance very well.

If you are running the 3.375 pulley its 124.7". Gates seems to be a popular brand, and run it on my car.

If you are running the 3.25 pulley and an 100mm idler, the belt should be 125.3" if I remember correctly. The part number should be 061253.

Im running a Steeda Tensioner and havent had any problems. As for your pulley, you've got a 3.125 pulley which I think is good for 12-13psi.. I relocated my IAT to the same spot you were thinking and havent had any problems also.

I thought the kit came with the 10psi 3.375 pulley? Im doing work right now, got all the plugs out no problem, manifolds off, bumpers off, putting on the coolant crossover at the moment.

So i guess the kit came with the 3.125" pulley, is this a mistake from Whipple? i thought the H.O. Kit came with the 10 psi 3.375" pulley. Would you guys run 12 psi on the stock block? Or would you tell whipple to send you the 10 psi pulley you wanted. Ideas?

Also how did you guys hook up the heater hose in the back to the coolant cross over? there isn't an adapter to attached Whipple's hose to the factory hose??? I was just going to get a fitting tomorrow from sears or home depot.

Here are some pics of the progress from tonight... (sorry for the dirty engine. New powdered valve covers come next week)

Very nice!

Mine came with the 3.375 pulley and I'm making 10psi in warmer weather and I swear I've seen 11-12 in the dead of our Jersey winters.

Nice progress.

Mine came with a 3.25 pulley in 12/09. Seems like Whipple is just throwing in any pulley they have at the moment. This is also the second time I heard about not coupler for the heater hose.

BTW, your replacement belt is 124.7". :hi:
