Looks great, I like the valve covers too. Maybe add in some aluminum reservoirs and it's perfect. If I go whipple I am gonna copy your build. LOL

I wonder why your IC tank is on the radiator and mine is back by the strut tower? Is that how it came?

Mine is where yours is also. I think he got one of the real new kits and that was one of the changes they made to the kit becasue he also got a 3.125 pulley with his kit which ive never seen come with a Whipple kit.

He is right, the new kits are a little different. The instructions have the pulleys all different too, kind of confusing when looking online at the older instructions.

Made similiar numbers to what I did on Justin's dyno (498/478). Strange that pulley made only 11.2 psi. I have the 3.5" pulley on mine and when he dynotuned it, it made a little over 10 psi.

Maybe Whipple made even more changes than just relocated the intercooler res.

Im thinking so, ill see where my boost is at now with the 3.375" pulley and the new tune when i get my gauges. Feels just as fast as with the other pulley and pulled timing. Ran a 12.46@ 119 with the new pulley tonight at the track, and a 12.19@119 with a 1.9 60' on a friends 18" 555Rs. Gotta relearn how to launch, and 11s are in my future with that trap.

I made 9.9 psi (peak) on a 3.625.

with the 3.125" pulley. It only made 11.2 psi though.

I was at 12.4 with the 3.25

I have a 2.3L Gen II w/3.625" pulley and can see damn near 11lbs on a good day. Verified at the Whipple factory in Fresno, CA.

I have the 3.5" pulley on mine and . . . it made a little over 10 psi.

For some reason the difference in boost and pulley size on the Whipple is bugging me. I ran mine this morning, 11.4 lbs. boost with a 3.4 pulley (@ 6,700 rpms with 8 rib & Thumper RRR set up). Is it just me or should the equation of boost to pulley size be more consistent when your dealing with the same blower?

You'd think it would be.. I know altitude and temps have an effect on boost.. maybe we should toss that in there when stating boost?

wow its seems everyone is instaling these themselves. i got my Whipple HO coming and was debating whether to do the install myself or have it done professionally. So truthfully, this wasnt that bad of an install for you guys? how about that sensor relocation, that would get me nervous drilling into my new kit and hoping i dont F it up.

Mine was already tapped for it.

I hear you, although I wasn't aware of the IAT mod at the time of installation.

The plastic sensor in the runner port is pretty easy though and should work just as well.

I wasn't aware of the IAT relocation either and went with the plastic IAT sensor in the 1/8 NPT port after the fact. I found out about the need to relocate after a tuner would not tune the motor without the relocation. Since then, I have pulled the blower and intake and drilled and tapped for the metal sensor. So I've done both, and drilling and tapping the intake prior to install is just about as simple as going with the plastic sensor IMHO.

i wont name any names but i was quoted a price north of $1500 for the install/tune and was wondering if it was a fair price or was wondering if this was a install that i could tackle myself. i do have mechanic experience its just i wasnt sure which route to take

If that includes a SCT devise its not too bad since that is $300 and a dyno tune can be another 3-4. Seriously, the install is very simple. Just a bunch of steps that are laid out in the instructions. My personal opinion is if you have a modified car, you better know how it goes together, how it works, and how to repair it. Lots of idiots on this board installed their Whipple, I'm sure you can too! (joke)

Bring it to FL and I'd have it done in a day for $700.

i have the sct x3 devise, i will take a look at the instructions and see whats what. you have a point with the having a modified car comment. im sure i will have no problem swinging it. i was quoted like $1800 plus tax
