I agree totally, what a major marketing fuck up ! The collective group, at the FoMoCo design team, need's to make that loud popping sound and pull their Head's out of their Asses !

yes its retarded, but its about making money...sadly this will probably turn out to be very profitable. Now if ford could pull off painted true flames or ghost flames instead of random vinyl flame graphics...it might not seem like such a stupid idea lol

This is the worst. Vinyl and flames? Just primer the car, run straight pipes, and cut your springs to top the look off.

I'm wondering what the split will be between V6s and V8s.

Well that really looks like shit. But I hope that's a rough I mean a very rough draft of what they are talking about flames. Now if they do like the picture below it wouldn't look all that bad.

Being in the sign business I know wraps are huge right now but I am not a fan of them. There is pretty good money in them and due to the new conformable vinyls that have come out in the past few years installs are easier than ever.

I can't believe they are going to warranty a wrap for 3 years 36000 miles. After 3 years there will be noticeable difference between the paint that was wrapped and the paint that has been out in the sun.

This is a recipe for disaster!

they warranty the actual vinyl (most likely against peeling, fading, ect) not the paint below it, that would probably have your standard 5yr corrosion warranty still

Ford or the wrap maker is going to be eating a ton of money on this! The wrap will fade, peel and get gouged by rocks etc in the 3 years its on there. The vinyl manufacturer ( Most likely 3M ) will do NOTHING as far as a warranty on the product, been there and been screwed .

I noticed in the article is says "The designs, which are basically enormous decals, are installed by the dealer and, unlike paint, can be easily removed without damaging the underlying paint, Ford said."

I guess Ford can say that the fading of the paint is not covered because it wasn't technically "damaged" by the vinyl.
