I was just wondering if a forged wheel can be widened. I know I have read about standard aluminum wheels being widened, but didn't know about forged wheels.

you get what you pay for. 250/wheel is pretty reasonable. I'd pay that for a piece of mind that my wheel is going to come apart at speed.

well i have my wheels and tires for sale on here and no one has shown any interest yet. I am wanting to go to a staggered set of wheels. My wheels now are 20X8.5 and I know I can run a 275 on the rear but would like to go wider than that. If they don't sell I may just have the two rears widened.

I have NT05 255/35/20 on the rear now and would like to run 315/35/20

I don't know what the offset is on the wheels though, so I will have to figure out how to measure it and make sure I can do it. Can't find it googling. The wheels are MC2 Customs.

Weldcrafters always widens to the inside, so you should be able to go to a 10.5 (added 2") without trouble

I'm going to be sending off my factory bullitts to them today so they can take them from 17x8's to 17x10's. I will post some pics when I get them back.

I think american muscle has them in that size, for less than it'd cost to widen.

Yeah, I looked at those. But they only offer them in silver and are deep dish 17x10's. I don't like deep dish wheels at all. Mine are the Ford Racing Bullitts that are more of a darker silver or anthracite color. Using Weldcraft to get the 17x10 width on Bullitts without the deep dish look was the only option available for me since I wanted a wide Bullitt wheel. Now I get to wait about four weeks. Just glad I've got my trusty 94' Toyota truck to drive in the meantime lol.

Okay guys I am goint to bump this back up. I just took off one of my wheels and layed a straight edge accross the tire and measured to the mounting surface of the wheel from the front and back. I am posting up a crappy paint pic I did with these measurements. From these measurements I am coming up with a +32.5mm offset, would this be correct? On one spot on the inside of the wheel it say 20X8.5 ET 32. So with my measurements and this stamping it would seem that these are 32mm offset wheels. Now again, if my calculations are correct, and they add 2" to the inside of the rim, this should change the offset to about +58.

The wheels are 8.5" wide now and I would like to have them widened 2" on the rear to run a 315-35-20 tire. Do you foresee any problems with this offset(if I have it figured correctly)?

Also, this site seems to have no info on it.

Does anyone have contact info for them?

You are correct, if you widen just to the inside, your offset with change by half of the amount added to the wheel.

Look at your wheel really close on the back side. Most companies cast or stamp the offset in the wheel. Maybe look for them online as well to see what is offered in the 8.5"?

I think the +58 with a 10.5 wheel would fit OK, but others that have a similar set up would know for sure.

Fuel, I am running the Steeda Ultralights 18"x9.5" rims which have +45mm backspace (for reference). If the car doesn't sell I am going to widen the two rears as well to 10.5"... Sub'd to see how you come out on this as I have been searching for someone to do it as well.

THe offset is the measure of the mounting surface off of center of the rim. So if you add 2" to the inside of the rim only, then yes the offset would change. THe outside of the rim won't stick out any farther but the inside of the wheel will now go farther into the wheel well. This is how I have it figured out anyhow.
