Been a couple of years since I posted any external pictures - most of my threads are technical in nature and my skills as a photographer leave something to be desired. Lot's has changed in the performance dept.

NOTE: As the title of this thread already stated THIS IS A CLONE. Now that we have that out of the way...

Looks good man. Never seen a WB GT500 so that's diff. You will catch lots of flack on the badges. I'm always a believer that you do whatever makes you happy, but as you can see, my car looks like a Shelby but I would never stick snakes on it. But again, you do what you want. Looks good.

Usually not a fan of clones but seems you didn't skimp on anything and yours has the balls to back it up, I like it.

Yes I was confident the badges would be a source of controversy rather than the attention to detail and quality of the build. However, everyone is entitled to their opinion. For those of you familiar with building a clone, I don't think you'll find one with more attention to detail than this one. Although it still retains a 4.6L 3V (bored & stroked to 301 CID) and 5R55S, this is by no means an appearance only oriented build. Here's a complete list of the performance mods

Nicely done

Thank you - it's nice to hear from a GT 500 owner

Looks like the conversion is a quality one...good job.

Im debating on the gt500 front end for my Bullitt. Can I ask where you bought the front end stuff?

Absolutely my favorite clone, and hands down one of my favorite S197's of the site!

For those that don't know, this is one of the very first clones, and as he mentioned not a single corner was cut.

Although it was an appearance conversion, the detail of his write-up was as technical as any tech thread we've ever had. This proved to be an extremely valuable thread after the many conversions that came from using it.

I've always had issues with those cars that are falsely badged, but this is one car that will always get an exception from me.

That's not even mentioning the meticulous build that he eluded to with his performance mod list.

Quite impressive!

I like it, and no one can blame you for wanting the look of the GT500. It is by FAR the best looking front end on the S197. I agree with some of the other members that adding the snakes and shelby logo advertises it as something its not, but its your car and it doesnt really bother me that much. I am very close to doing the front end conversion as well (significant other has given the green light lol) so I'm glad to see one converted over so well. It looks great!

I've always loved that blue. On the fence about the clone part of it, but it has the go to match the look.

Absolutely - right through my local Ford dealer as I get a substantial discount through my work. Be glad to provide any help or part#s you may need.

As S197 GT mentioned this clone was built back in Dec. 2006 when there was still a 15K - 20K markup on GT 500s.

Looks great! Tastefully done! I dont see a problem with the badges. If your going to build a clone, why not do it right badges and all.

I remember seeing your car on the forums back in the day, that color with the GT500 body is awesome.

Wow! Clone or no clone, that is still a beautiful car. They should have made GT500's in that color.
