Winter storage question

How often should I fire up my 06 GT while stored for the winter and why?

I fired mine up in November and I havent since then.

Calgary is really cold right now so I dont want to stress turning the engine over.

Im sure itll fire up no problem in the spring here.

I usually just throw a battery tender on it and don't bother starting it as limited run time can do more harm than good if you don't get all the moisture burned off.

Same as above except I don't use a tender. I have a diehard battery charger and just put it on the 2amp setting and let it go. Usually only takes a few hours at most to "top it off". In fact last month it had been sitting there for 5 weeks and still had nearly a full charge.

The battery tender is never a bad idea no matter what the temp is. Put some Stabil fuel stabalizer in the tank and let it run a few minutes before you put it into storage.

when i had mine i unhooked the batt and never started it till i was readdy to drive it my gf cuzz has a srt8 challenger and left the batt hooked up and he said it fried the comp or sumthin luckly it was under warrenty so i would unhook the batt

Thanks everyone, that's exactly what I wanted to hear. I have the car in an insulated but not heated garage with the battery disconnected. Damn cold here so I really did not want to stress it. Someone told me I needed to start it once a month and let it idle until in normal operating temperature to keep condensation at a minimum. Wasn't sure if that was needed or not as I've never done this with my older Mustangs.
