I've never heard of anyone who has used Wiseco pistons in a mod motor build. Is there anyone out there who has experience with them? They have some interesting mod motor pistons. Some have domes. In fact there is one model for a 3.701 3v bore that will result in 12.3 compression and 304 cubic inches with stock stroke.

The pics look like it's a high quality piston. Comes with a skirt coating and rings.

I have some extra money due to ot and selling my old motor. I'm thinking of making a backup motor out of the 2cc dome Wiseco pistons, boss connecting rods, a stock crank, and big bore boss block.

I couldn't count how many wiseco pistons were used in the powersport dealership I worked at. They are a quality product.

^This, Only brand I would consider when I rode dirtbikes.
I have looked at what they offer for the 3v and if I had the money and a project I would buy them over any one else with no hesitation.

Unless I'm mistaken, Wiseco is a division of JE, for whatever that's worth.

The company has been in business for a long long time...never used em on mod motors but have used them on older builds and they were always excellent quality long lasting stuff.

Bruce, when my come in I will post pics. Mine are customs for the 3.701" bore, 5.85" rod and 3.800" crank. They have a little dome to them. I'll know more specs when they come in. My setup will be around 12-12.5:1.

Already building another engine for yourself?

Probably. I ordered a set of 2cc dome 3.701 pistons for stock stroke. Also ordered 16 boss connecting rods. I have two 4.6 cranks in the garage. Now I'm just looking for a deal on a big bore block.

I decided to put the money from selling my other motor into another build. I'm also working a bunch of ot right now so I have some extra cash. I don't think the boss rods will be around forever so I got enough for two motors. I might have a problem, lol.

With stock heads it would have a compression ratio of 12.3:1. I think it should be fine with e85 and 92 based on how well my current 12:1 likes both e85 and 92 pump gas.

I'm thinking that a motor with 3.543" stroke and 3.701" bore should rev fairly quick especially with the lighter stock 4.6 crank. If it was fitted with the high flow frpp heads that have a 48cc combustion chamber compression would be 12.8. Add a custom .026" head gasket and compression is a nice even 13:1.

Bruce u definitely have a problem. But i guess buying engine parts like ur a wholesaler is better than spending money on other horrible vices like blow and hookers. U just need more cars for all these motors.

They are all we ever used in our bikes. Never an issue.

I wish I had the time, money, and knowledge you do Bruce. Very curious to see how this works out for you. After seeing all the cool combinations you come up with,
I'm really kicking myself for not rebuilding my engine after I blew it up. Probably could have saved a lot of money!

Jegs sent me an email saying the product was no longer available. I did their online price match and I think they decided not to honor the price. I'll have to order from somewhere else.

There is nothing to building a mod motor. Just follow the Ford manual and replace the parts that usually fail.

Bruce I may have to put this in my SIG lol

And we ran those pistons all the time in the dirt bikes we had in the 80's
No issues.
