Won't crank and I'm stumped.

check the crank position sensor. its to the left of the crank pulley on the timing cover, jsut to the right of the A/C compressor.

Yeah, I did that. I remembered that one from over on TCCoA! But the crank sensor wouldn't stop the starter from cranking, it shuts off the spark.

I removed the clutch switch, and it broke apart in 4 pieces when I pulled it out. So, it looks like I'll be getting a new one of those anyway. But I should be able to try and jump the connector, right, from one pin to the next?

I found a writeup on this forum that has a step by step procedure for my "won't crank" situation. I checked all the fuses, then checked the relay pin KO for voltage, and I had 12V. Then, I checked the other pin on the starter relay while cranking and I had no voltage. So, this writeup says I have an issue between the key and the relay.

Lots of talk about alternators failing on our cars. Any chance its that?

Not if he replaced his battery like he mentioned. With a fresh battery it would at least start.

Glad you got it figured out.
