What year are you looking for? Up until 2010 the GT500 used the stock GT mufflers for an automatic car (same part number). Starting with 2010 they got a different muffler.

The 2010 has a deeper sound, bigger tips, but I'm not sure that they can be bolted on to the 2005-09 because I think in 2010 is when they started the "bulge" on the over axle connector. It can be done I'm sure but you would have to change the over axle pipe as well if that is the case (or fabricate some changes)

i sent an email to a guy on criaglist he wanted 80 for a set i offered 50 he said no thanks, adn tried to give me this lecture of garbage about how the gt500 mufflers are so incredibly better and flow 10x better. i sent him a message back saying ok, well you do realize the gt's adn gt500's are the same and same part number from ford even... so w/e i'm sure he wont get off his high horse.

ok cool thanks, basically i want to imitate sharrads exhaust and he said he had used gt500 mufflers with an off road x pipe.

Not surprising with the Craigslist guy. People tend to think that they have something magical because it came off a GT500, but don't realize that the parts may have come off the Ford parts shelf.

I see people paying big money for the GT500 side skirts for example. But all they are is the V6 side skirt rather than the GT side skirt. One year (can't remember which) the GT500 used the stock V6 rear spoiler (the flat one that was on the 2007 V6) - and people bought them because of the GT500 connection and paid for it.

well the craiglist guy replied he said the internals are different but the casing is the same... i'm really tempted to say you're retarded they have the same ford part number.

well he's a shop owner of some sorts as he refered to his "customers" cars.. so i'm really kinda interested in finding out who this guy is and what shop he runs so i can post all this and laugh about it.

Yeah, tell him to check the part number stamped on the "same casing" and he will see that it is the GT part number. Ford didn't create the same muffler, with the same part number, but change the internals.

And I had the GT500 mufflers (sold them just a little while ago because I had a great deal on some GTB's). I didn't pay any more for them than any other GT muffler, and told the buyer that while they are off a GT 500 he can use that for "bragging purposes" but they are the GT mufflers so priced accordingly. I could probably have put them on ebay and gotten more for them by specifying the GT500 take off nature of them.
