WTB Steeda underdrive pulley install bolt.

Hey guys, I know plenty of you run steeda UDP's I have everything but the longer crank install bolt, (also could use the longer alternator bolt but I think I can find that one) If anyone has this longer bolt for the crank install part let me know what you want for it and you got it, shipped to NJ 08863

If you can't go without it I can just send it back to you when I am done.

the install bolt is just for getting the crank pulley started. you should just buy a new crank bolt from ford seeing as technically it is a TTY and shouldnt be reused, and then go match the thread at a hardware store with a longer bolt. its really just a throw away item anyway.

Yes I already have a brand new crank bolt ready to go in, I'm not skimping on anything even got a chrysler pulley puller. now I want the install bolt or will the old stock bolt help me push the crank on there? or just a longer bolt from the hardware store?

just a longer one from the hardware store. make sure it is the proper thread size and pitch though

I'll look for it tomorrow the size is m12x1.5mm, (length?) I don't want to get it too long, do you happen to know the length of that steeda bolt?

get it a half inch to an inch longer than the crank bolt you have

Can't help with the bolt, but...

The last time I took mine off was to do the heads. The motor was on a bench. I greased the shaft (except for where the silicon was) and I just tapped the balancer a few times with the palm of my hands and it was on far enough to use the stock bolt.

as long as it is longer than the crank bolt, you will be fine. just get a nut to match the bolt and thread it to the head of the bolt. mount the pulley, thread in your nut and bolt combo, and then run the nut down against the pulley so it pushes the pulley onto the crank. it will also help if you have a fender washer on there as well.

im going to attempt to draw it out on ms paint for you to try and better help the situation.

ok so here it is. lets pretend that this is the setup as terrible as it looks. my paint skills are lacking greatly

A. the bolt you buy that will be longer than youre crank bolt. this fucker could be 6 inches long for this. it doesnt really matter as long as it is longer than the stock crank bolt.

B. the nut that matches the thread of your new install bolt. youre gonna buy this wherever you get the new install bolt.

C. the large washer that you buy with the other stuff

D. the crank pulley

first. piece together the bolt nut and washer.
second. mount the crank pulley on the crank
third. thread the bolt nut and washer assembly through the pulley into the crank
fourth. get two open end wrenches to fit your bolt and nut.
fifth. hold back on the bolt with one wrench while tightening the nut against the pulley with the other
sixth. once the pulley is seated, or close enough to use the replacement crank bolt, remove your contraption and install the new bolt.
seventh. torque everything to spec.
eighth. crack a beer and raise it up to backyard mechanincs

LOL thanks for that, it makes sense and is exactly what I want to do you explained it very well and the drawing was awesome.

here lies the problem though, I can't find the bolt to start all this lol I HAVE NOT FOUND A SINGLE BOLT that is longer than the crank bolt with the same thread size and pitch, besides buying an 80 dollar ford damper installer i'm out of luck locally and on the damn internet lol. I do appreciate the write up and that's exactly what I want to do AS SOON AS I GET A BOLT DO TO IT WITH
