Cant sleep , ready to go to PBIR tomorrow night . Ive been chasing gremlins for like 2 or 3 months with the fuel system and more boost . I think its figured out tomorrow will tell .
With more power comes more tuning the shift points , but I think I have it under control .
Hope to see Lethal and BBR out there tomorrow . I want to see the BBR Turbo 2011 make a pass .
I hope the weather holds up and that it cools off a little . The weather here in Florida has been horrible for racing , humid as f(*& and raining in the afternoons.

I hope it all works out and that I see a full clean pass at 26.6 psi's .

Stay tuned for results.

Ok not the track day I was hoping for , Ive just about had it with these new pumps that have come out . Bottom line is they dont work. Yes the Aeromotive 340s , and Deatschwerks flow more fuel , but they loose the flow numbers drastically as the temps go up. Its the only thing I can think of . In the last 2 months I have gone thru 6 pumps, and re-wired the entire fuel pump wiring from 10 gauge to 3 separate 8 gauge wires , 3 separate 40 amp fuses and 3 separate Bosch Relays . Today 1st pass off the trailer at low boost held fuel pressure until almost the end of the track when it locked converter then I notice that the a/f went to 12.6 so I lifted . Car felt off right from the start . Next pass added 5% more fuel and this time I looked at the pressure , dropped from 67 psi's to 50 and went lean again . Its the freakin pumps .
So 3rd pass I jumped the hobb switch to run the 3rd pump right from the start , car felt awake in the burn out box , John Force style so I knew it had more pressure . Left the gate with a 1.48 which is down from my normal 1.40s but felt better until I blew the intercooler pipe off .
Air/fuel was still in the 12.2s so I know its the pumps will loose pressure .

So now the plans change again , getting bosch 105 injectors and Walbro's go back in . The 105s will give me 20% more fuel flow which will allow me to drop the rail pressure down to around 38 or 40 , and I will be able to run 26 psi's of boost and still be around 67 psi's of fuel pressure so the Walbro's will still be good .
Im so frustrated right now this will be the 3rd time I drop the tank and replace fuel pumps .

Took a few video's tonight but nothing worth posting other then a real nice burn out.

Should get the injectors tomorrow and put the pumps in by Sat.

Have you datalogged the voltage? I know of a few people that runs a bap on return systesm to keet the voltage on the pumps consistent at wot. They not run a pick up tube wusing your current hat and just slap a magnafuel pump or a aeromotive? I really don't trust all those small pumps over a proven high volume fuel pump.

What injectors are you running now, ID 1000's still?

Still on ID 1000s , was going to pull the trigger on the 1600s but they are having issue's with flow when they get hot , the 2000s work great but thats way to much injector for my needs . Im getting the 105s and running the Walbro's again . The car ran great for a year no problems on the Walbro's .

Yeup , believe me I check everything on every pass, Voltage 13.4 to 13.1 all the way down .
Its the pumps , I let the car sit for an hour and made a pass it ran better and pressure stayed up , just blew the intercooler pipe off so scratched the run .
I dont really want to sump the tank and put a Fuel Lab / Magnafuel , etc on there . The Fore hat keeps everything nice and neat.
I have thought of a surge tank set up,but thats just more crap in the car.

Walbro's are reliable I just need more room with injectors, so I can turn up the boost to 26 psi's .

We've been debating on making a custom factory fuel hat to drop a fuel lab pump in the tank , but at this time I dont really have the time to mess with that to make it work . Not sure if it will be too much for the factory baffle in the tank .

I'll post up updates as I go along.

By the way Jared from Lethal was at the track with there 2012 Boss. I'll let him post up results , but it ran great . Wow!

Got the pumps already and waiting on new fuel socks which will be here tomorrow.

Hey Pete,

I would solder them in instead of running the adapters. It is one less connection to worry about.

Pete - you have crossed the threshold IMO where it is time for a TRUE return system (I say 'TRUE' meaning not a kit on the stock system but a 'real' big boy pump and injectors)

Honestly bro - the more power you go for the more and more you are going to continue to give yourself headaches trying to run through the CPU

Just go to a BS3 system already and save yourself lot's and lot's of headaches in the near future. Where you are heading - you are going to end up having to go to a BS3 anyway so you might as well do it now and yourself yourself the misery to come if you don't.

Your life would be so much easier with a BS3 - I promise you.

Do any of you drive the car everyday in bumper to bumper traffic , stop and go , in 90* humid weather . I dont think so . Yes STAND ALONE is the best for tuning and racing I know this , Ive known this since the Haltech and Accel DFI days. One of my best friends who got me into racing is Willie Figueroa . He was racing and building bad ass mustangs before any of us even had an idea in our heads about cars. Ive learned alot from him and he tunes my car . Its not my 1st rodeo guys.
Eventually I will go stand alone , but not until I stop daily driving the car . When its just a weekend hot rod then I'll take the jump .
If I sump the tank and run bosch pumps I wont have any pressure issue's , but by sumping the tank now I will have low fuel issue's . Wont be able to run the tank down to or close to E.
Lets see what happens after I try the new injectors , if it continues to drop pressure there has to be something else wrong . It never dropped pressure with the Walbro's before . All the problems started when I tried these new turbine 300+ lph in tank pumps . They get hot and drop off pressure .
