What mods do you regret?

I somewhat regret my approach to my car, because I really want to get FI now. I'm not losing any sleep over it though, because I get to the track about as often as Halley's comet comes around. The only real regret I have about my mods is with my budget, I've essentially lost the ability to consider a turbo, which I would have liked to try just because there are so many fewer of them around.

I can't complain too much though, it's a blast to drive, sounds great and the tune hasn't given me any real nagging issues.

Narrowband Air/fuel = Useless. Didn't quite realize just HOW useless until I had it wired up.

But that's ok, cause I just bought a Cobalt Wideband to replace it. :)

Pype Bombs

They sound GREAT with the stock cats in place...but I went to an off-road H-pipe yesterday and the Pype Bombs and the off-road pipe make it sound like...well, ungodly, retardedly loud.

Had a friend who did the same pretty much. Put some SLP Loudmouths on and they sounded good. Put a offroad H on and sounded good on startup. Then he hit the gas and it was godawful loud. And not in a good way either. lol

Oh yeah. I drove around with LT's, Cams, no cats, m80s (like pipe bombs) and SLP's for about a week. Sound good at idle. Give a little gas and it sounded like a supped up diesel truck.

My regret is trying to buy cams off ebay. I got scammed. Luckily it worked out in the end.

I don't regret my hot rod cams though. Technically they may lose a little down low but I honestly don't feel it. I have NO drive-ability problems at all. Sounds great and I did not lose MPG. I still get 25 HWY and 20/21 average city/HWY mix. I EASILY spin the fuck out of the tires from a stop and I have brand new 275 KDWs too. Also stock 3.31s. I plan on 4.10s because in my area it's hilly as fuck and these 3.31s hate it. Even IF I lose MPG from them (probably won't due to the hills) I don't care because I work at home a lot and it's a V8 mustang not a prius so fuck it.

For a street car, hot rods are the only way to go IMO. Too many complaints about the others. For serious racing, custom grind.

The thumprs do sound awesome though. I like their sound better than the hot rods a little, but they seem to have more issues from what I've heard.

traction issues? the people i know with s197 GTs, twinscrew superchargers(KB, saleen) love the 4.10s still. but they also have UCAs/LCAs and wide tires so they get traction even in 1st.

Relocation brackets also - ftw. ;)

Pretty much seems to be who tunes it. I've had my Comp Thumprs in for over a year now and 0 issues. Had it dyno tuned by Brenspeed. Buddy has Hod Rods in his and they do sound hella good but not quite as lopey as the Thumprs.

I need brackets but that's all I really don't think it will help much though. Plus I have a 295 rear tire already.

I regret buying rear MRT window louvers. Not the quarter ones. They look cool but the 3M tape just isn't enough to keep the brackets on there. They'll lift here and there in 6 to 8 months then I have to re-apply the tape again.

The only other thing is an aftermarket shifter. I tried the Hurst and the MGW. Didn't care for either. Stock just felt better, to me.

Other than that; I'm good. I mostly buy used parts on here so, the $$$ isn't too bad when I buy them and on occasion, I've even made money when it comes time to selling something I don't like.

So far all I've installed are SLP Loudmouths and the right side buzzes once in a while...not a loose clamp or bad fitting, but the actual exhaust hanger is causing it to vibrate around 1250 RPM. Love the exhaust, but hate the buzz.

Really? What about the MGW didn't you like? Curious as you are the first person I've heard of who didn't like it. Im going to be switching from the Pro 5.0 to the MGW soonish.

My only regret was buying some stripes from Baltimore Street Mods. I never got around to installing them, and I can't even give the damn things away!

They're just sitting here in the box.

I also wish I didn't spend $1,200 on emblems for my '05, but I really wanted to be different. Fast forward 6 months and everyone is getting the damn airbrushed emblems! Now I'm just like the rest, but at least I can say I was one of the first to get them.

I also regret helping Ted with his car...because he's a homophobe! Hahahaha! Just messin' with you! You could have kept it out of the wall though!

I made the same switch, and was happier with the Pro 5.0. I had previously ran the Hurst as well.

The design of the MGW is like a piece of art, but my amazement ended there.

I regret selling this kit because of my PRIDE not letting me go out and running a single digit number(not 9s!) with the system because of a certain company claiming the number.
