After a month of being down my car is up and running and better than ever. When I first bought the car I would have been happy with it running 11's but hanging with the evolution guys and seeing what they have done with these cars it didn't last long before I was slapping a blower on it . With minimal mods the car was in the mid to low tens and with some more tweaking from Jon Lund it was the first auto 5.0 in the 9's and competed and won the 5.0 shootout power adder street class. After 15+ 9 sec runs and countless low 10's we had are first misshap at atco nmra. My 3rd run into the day and guess what oil pressure light comes on at the far end of the track. Loaded her up in the trailer and took it right to evo on Sunday by Monday car was back in the trailer. They had the motor to l&m by Tuesday and upon tear down it was the oil pump that failed pistons and rods were perfect still. While it was apart I had them install l&m spec pistons, oliver billet rods , boss springs , and some other goodies. I also decided to upgrade to the 2.9 whipple. I couldn't thank the crew at evo enough for their quick turnaround and the quality of work that they do. The car looks , drives , and performs amazing.

P.s. Jon Lund is the man the drivability on the car is insane . Can't wait to crank her up once broken in!!

Nice! I can't wait to see what you can do now!

How much boost are you planning on running with this new set up? How about the fuel? E85?

I concur, Lund is the man!

Once broken in the plan is to go e85 and around 19-21lbs of boost would really like to see what these trannys can hold.

Will the car be truly "streetable" after your latest mods? That has to be super fun to drive! What kind of numbers is the car making now?

Congrats!

The car is currently on a break in tune and 11lbs of boost but I must say it feels much stronger than my race tune on my old setup and hardly any timing in it yet. Jon Lund took the car for several days and the drivability is perfect better than stock. I could never imagine car with that much power on tap driving so perfectly. We're hoping for big numbers once everything is broken in properly. On the old 2.3 whipple setup we made 720+ rwhp on 14lbs.

What compression did you end up going with. I'm considering doing the same buildup, billet rods, upgraded springs, ported heads, etc. but I can't decide if I want to lower the compression or maintain it at this level..

Thanks,

Mike

i went with a 10.5 to 1 compression didn't want to go any lower than that. I've seen what dropping the compression to much does esspecially when your goal is to push a bigger blower.

Your car is the reason I went to Atco for the NMRA. I wound up not even seeing the car lol

Glad to hear what great drivability John gave you. Although the magnuson i have is only around 7 lbs it is a daily driver. It will be a long two weeks waiting for him to tune my car.that turnaround time on your car is pretty amazing

Hopefully ill have mine back running in about 2 weeks, then we will hit the track. Be ready for the track in about 2 weeks, cause I need to break my car in. LOL
