Hopefully the rain stays away and hopefully I can get it to the track one night this week to start the dialing in process before Saturday. I'm looking forward to seeing your car make some ass hauling NA passes.

Which track?

Alright, I made some shakedown passes this weekend with the 'Glide. I'm still having very bad traction issues all the way down the track, so I've got a lot more suspension tuning to do. The best 1/8 mile pass so far with me driving was a 6.36 @ 111 mph with a 1.48 60 ft. My tuner drove the car a couple of times with a best of 6.35 @ 112 with a 1.52 60 ft. All these were passes were foot braked at varying launch speeds. I'm having trouble getting the transbrake to work, so I'm gonna have to drop the tranny pan and remove the valve body and get it checked out. The DA was around 2600. After I get the car to hook a little bit better, I plan on spraying it with a small shot to see what she'll do. Either way, I believe these times are the fastest non-nitrous Whipple 2.9 GT500 times to date. Keep in mind that I still have a stock long block at this time.

Before you go to all of that trouble; have you ensured that the transbrake solenoid is working properly? Try pushing it in with your hands to make sure it will move and return to the open position. Then hit the t/b button and have someone watch it to ensure it is moving with the 12v power supply.

Already checked the solenoid and it works as it should.

If you're trying to lighten the car up some more...I'll take that leather e-brake handle..LOL.

I'm not sure exactly what the issue was, but I swapped out the valve body and now it works perfectly.

Well, the numerically low 1st gear ratio of the Powerglide does not seem to be a problem for the car. When attempting to launch off the transbrake and 2-step at anything above 3500 rpm, it just blows the tires off. It looks like it's going to take a good bit of time and trial and error to figure out what combo will make this thing launch and hook.

Freshened up the 'Glide and upgraded to a JW Ultra Case and Tailshaft Housing. The OEM case had just about seen its better day.

^ Yes, but I'm not sure if I'm going, and if I do go, I probably won't compete. I'm not gonna have time to switch over to D.O.T. legal tires and get it dialed-in in time. Plus, I was a little disappointed with the track (60' timers not working) and the staff's handling of the event this spring.

I here ya about the track. That's why we call it Clay Shity instead of Clay City. That place is a joke of a track but it's the only choice for 1/4 mile racing unless you are willing to travel.

I'm gonna run the car in the Terminator vs. GT500 shootout this fall at NMRA in Bowling Green, then I'll probably only run 1/8 mile after that since Ohio Valley is only 30 minutes away and the nearest 1/4 mile track is over 1.5 hours away.
