What's the point and where do I get one if I want one?

I did it so i can access it without removing the turbo piping, it also lets me run a larger filter and increases the volume of the system.

+2, it was required for my on3 turbo

^^ That doesn't say it will work for a 3V. Also the adapter plate looks kind of bulky which might defeat the purpose of the kit even if it would fit.

Canton oil thermostate.

Remote oil filter forward of the left front wheel. The oil cooler is near the top front of the air-conditioning radiator.
