I have a 2005 and was wonding if anyone knows or has tried to get a key that has the remote entry buttons on it? I also have a 06 lincoln and really like not having a sep key fob to worry about. I know it would have to be programmed by ford (or turn off pats in Proracer). But would like to know if it is even possable.

I was at the dealer a couple weeks ago and i was looking at part numbers considering doing this myself. I found one website that said the 2010 keys work 07-10 but i dont see why it wouldn't unless they changed things

I tried it on mine, but only the key would program, the remote part of it wouldn't. That was several years ago when they first came out. Maybe the newer ones are different.

Yeah, they only work on the 2007+ on the Mustangs. The correct key that is compatible is the Fusion all-in-one key+fob (2006+ Fusion). I did my research and got a new key over our parts counter to use it on my Bullitt. Everything works perfect.

I can try programming a fusion or taurus key fob to my car and see what it does. We have some on our lot so I can give it a try and let you know if it works.

Cool.

If the keyless entry works I am not totally against turning pats off in my proracer. But would like to find out for sure first.

I bought a switch blade style key for my 05. It was around $30 and $5 to get it cut. As long as you have two keys you can program it yourself.

What if you have an aftermarket alarm? Will the new remote work?

Sure thing. I tackled this project because I hatted that extra fob. Went out of my way to do research to make it all complete. Originally I ordered a used Ford key-fob-all-in-one off eBay that had a gotten a replaced uncut key and it was a little beat up but I checked to make sure it was Fusion key after I heard rumors that the Mustang and Fusion shared the same electronic systems at that point.

The key was programmed by me using the Pats training - View this thread below:
http://mustangforums.com/forum/6754671-post1.html

The used key I got started to get really old and so I decided to actually get a new one. I was not sure exactly what to get so I tried out a couple keys to test on the door locks and the one that actually successfully programmed (using the door lock learning procedure) my locks was the winner. Here is the part number:

I used this key for a little bit, but when I installed my aftermarket alarm, I couldn't really use this key to arm the system so I really use it as a back up key.

So I'm back to this shit:

Hope this helps.
