What's it ride like when you lower it more? (I want a sportline stance when driving and an air ride stance when stopped).

I have not try lowering it to much to be honest and drive it. It drags on everything already because of the side pipes! I know when I had the sportlines on the car it was low and I couldn't even get in my driveway with it!

I don't want to believe the whole "bags are only good for looks when your parked somewhere. They look goofy when your driving on them." So I'm just wondering why most don't slam it while driving...I can understand why you wouldn't with that body kit.

I know the car rides 100% better now! I took my wife out in tonight to grab something to eat. She was amazed at how well the car handled the bumps and the ride quality. Like a different car to be honest!

Congratulations on your win! That is fantastic!

Thank you Sir!

I understand the ride is probably really good because the car is sitting so high up and the air has a lot of room to travel and adjust to bumps/imperfections of the road. I want to know how it acts when lowered pretty aggressively to cruise around on daily. Just raise it up when needed than go back to the aggressive drop.

I'm sure you'll be playing around with it a lot, i was just pointing out one of the things i was interested in hearing about the kit.

I understand... how does it ride at a very low stance

I had it sitting a little lower at first with a buddy of my in it. Felt okay other than bottoming out over a few bumps and shooting sparks from underneath the car.... lol! just not to much into ripping the exhaust off the car. My car is low at the center of the car due to the exhaust and how it curves out to the sides. No way around that with the frame and such.

I guess it will just take some fine tuning to see where the best ride settings are at. I myself could care less if it is a little higher than lowering springs at ride height to have a nice ride with no scrubbing the ground... or everything higher than a nats hair. But, I guess it could be set as low as you wanted during driving. Would take some playing with the pressure to find the sweet spot to keep the car low but not too low and bottom out on everything. It is there I am sure of it... just not something I have really tried yet due to it makes me winks every time I hear metal scraping the ground...

I have a few sets of springs and shocks on the car. The sportlines are low and look cool... but rode like a red wagon on the street. Loved the look, hated the ride. Like I said I could not even get into the driveway at home... not parking my car on the street... no way in hell is that happening. So air ride was my answer to this. Lower look when I wanted and ride comfort for the streets... crazy cool setup!

I was meaning to get some videos of the ride up and down and some more pictures today... just had a few things around the house I had to take care of. Been kinda busy with the car and not doing much else... lol

The car will actually ride a little bit better the lower you go because the spring rate will decrease. I normally drive about 1 1/2 to 2 inches below stock, but I do not have the low hanging exhaust that Sherrod has.

Wheel and tire size has a lot to do with it as well. When I have 20's on the car with a low profile tire I can ride lower and the ride is better. With the 18's and larger profile tire I rode a little higher and the ride was better.

Good to hear. I'll be running 20s and i want around a 2.25" drop in the rear and 2" in the front for daily use. (I hate fender gap lol.) Ride quality really isn't that big of a problem for me. If its for a long trip or something i can raise it up, but for the most part, i want the car sitting very low.

Not sure if this has been touched on yet, but how much would the alignment be affected by the constant change in ride heights? Would it not make that big of a change considering all of the other supported suspension components you have? Would be a little bit of a pain to have it aligned then have it go out of whack the first time the ride height is adjust. Forgive if this seems like a noob question, still new to the suspension aspects of the S197.

I love the shots of the spring comparisons, really puts things in perspective!

Yeah and sportlines at that! Big difference!

I believe you just get the car aligned at ride height or preset 1 and that is it. I have not taken the car to get aligned just yet. Been waiting on getting some new tires for the front of the car with a tad bit lower profile. The front if you noticed is alittle off from the back with sidewall height and looks just tad off. Not to bad, but something you notice when you own the car and look at everything.

So with that said... in the next couple of weeks I am going to pickup a 40 serise tire for the front that is 1.1" lower in diameter than the 45 serise that is in there now. Should match up pretty well with the back tire profile. Once I take the car to the shop I will let everybody know how hard it is to get aligned with air ride.

The damn black stuff around the window is from where I pulled the window louvers that where on the car. It left that nasty black crap and really messed up the paint on the drivers side. It pulled the clear coat off in some places and now has to be repainted to be fixed ......

Order up some new tires for the front last night.

BF KDW-2 245/40/18 to replace the worn out 245/45/18 that are on the car. The diameter of the 45 serise tire was 26.8" and the 40 serise is 25.7", so the car will sit a little lower for one. But mainly the back tire is a 345/30/18 and 26.2" tall and the tire that is on the car was 26.8", just a tad taller. Looked a little off from a eye they was comparing tire wall thickness, larger side wall front tire compared to the back.

Also have in the works some professional pics showing off the car and the new stance. Depending on the weather this weeksnd. I also have promised some video of the car and function of the air ride that I need to get finshed.

Have a lot in the works! Now thinking about BIG brake kits since seeing Air Lifts build using Baer brakes....
