Hey guys,
06 GT with DR's, auto, stock gear (3.31), stock converter, hotrods, airaid intake, LT headers and O/R H, bama tune for 91 (all I can get).
I'm running a best of 13.70 at 101mph. 60 ft times suck at 2.1
I wanna run a street friendly converter...suggestions? 3500 stall??
I was told a good converter would drop a half second or more, true?
Next best place to $$$ in gears?? or big n littles??
Anyone running 12's on stock motor with an auto?? Tell me your setup.
No spray.

I think the jump from 3.31s to 4.10s would really improve your ET. Since you already have DR's, bring on the gears.

Control arms and gears. What tire pressure are you running in your dr's? If you are running that bad of a 60ft time I'd bet your tires are slipping and a stall converter is only going to make it worse.

Yeah, a 2.1 with DR's is way off. So is 101 trap speed. An intake/headers/OR-H/cam/tune car should be north of 105 I would think. Tune issue maybe? Still think gears and LCA would help a lot considering its 3.31 gears.

I can see timing being pulled due to bad gas......this could explain the low mph you are experiencing. It happened to me until I found a gas station with true 93 octane. When you get good octane fuel, you will know if timing was being pulled.

In addition, a 1 piece DS, LCAs and drag springs could really help out. I have a 1 piece DS, LCAs, UCA and mount, Cobra jet rear springs and a front sway delete and it launches like a beast.

All in all, likely 750-1000 dollars will get you into the low 13s and upper 12s.

Practice launching....it will happen.

It's your tune.you don't need anymore parts to run 12s.launch at a 1000 and shift at 6700.call brenspeed and tell him you want the tune like dragpacs 06 auto........

Thanks for the info guys.
Conditions haven't been favorable with DA around 4500ft last run.
I have no wheel spin. I'm running around 16 lbs of pressure in my DR's...so control arms wouldn't help would they?
I figured my trap speeds seemed low. I only gained 2/10ths after my cams, headers/h-pipe and bama tune. But conditions were also worse.
Guess I'll probably lean towards both....gears and a converter. But I'll try getting bama to adjust my tune as well....

Not that you would get 5 tenths but it seems to me you should be able to run about 28-30lbs in those dr's I could with 4.30's and no stall.also I didn't know da was +4500.good luck

The da is the main killer for you.

I know its really hurting my times....seems like every time we race its 90+ degrees and really windy. Probably wont get better times until closer to fall or maybe some friday nights

Mod motors love rpm's.

Didn't see the DA either, bro.
Yea good luck with that... lol
I usually shift at 6500, seems comfty.

Dragpac, what rpm did you shift at going into 4th, because those gears are closer together and the next gear comes up at around 5k rpm or so, missing the meat of the torque when I shift at 6500.

6700 I would leave my car in drive at the track it was set to shift at 67 but fourth would always short shift so I would wait for it to shift into third then pull the shifter back to third and manually shift third to fourth at 6700.and I got my best 60' at. 1000 rpm launch.I remember getting my car in oct 06 and hitting the track bone stock on street tires and running 13.60-13.75

DA is definitely hurting. Exhaust, LCA & Brackets, intake and tune and STREET TIRES i Nailed a 12.871 at 108.XX but at ATCO. I am still not familiar with DA conversions which usually seem awfully generous to me.

What SHOULD his mods get him near at 4500 feet, peeps?
