Yeah the gears are different and no clutches for the true trac. I did research at the time and valvoline gear oil was quite popular for the price. Ive had no issues with. Only difference is I had to add friction modifier with it since im on the stock diff still.

Did you add the modifier when you changed the fluid?

That discussion never settled it....sigh....I thought Ray's one wheel peel was due to the friction modifer being used with the RP but I might be wrong.

See how rumors start. That was speculation by Bruce with nothing to prove his opinion. I dont think Dave would have put the modifier in there if it would hurt the clutches. I asked Dave before I handed over the parts. Dave did his 4.10's right after he did mine and he has no issues so..... IDK.

LOL, Darn Rumors! Yeah I mean I've had it in my rear for a long time now, no one wheel peel yet. I just think that with the instant torque of that whipple on your setup Ray and with the stronger launches, it's more wear on the clucthes and is what caused it fail sooner. Just my my best guess.

From what I understand any limited slip, clutch style diff needs friction modifier when used with syntheric gear oil.

And Greg, Eddie did your 4:10 gear swap correct? Ask him is he put friction modifier in after he did the gears.

IDK, I asked Rick and Dave about it. They said its hit or miss with the clutch setup from Ford. Bad design so to speak. But what do ya do.

Why not do it yourself and save a few hundred bucks. It's pretty simple. Only hard part is setting up the backlash. And that's only a matter of adding/taking away shim from each side. Just sayin

All of us here have installed most of our stuff on our own with install parties @ Gregs. I have more than just a Trutrac to be installed. Torque Converter, Servos, Input shaft PA pan, C-Clip eliminators etc.. Then off to adjust the tune.

Yesterday I got side swiped/t-boned by a Mack truck in the Saleen. Whole right side needs fixed, there is a gaping hole in my quarter panel and the rear end is pushed back about 3 inches. What is a GOOD body shop in the Va Beach area to take it too that is going to do a good job. The car is a 1 of 8 and I dont want some shoddy work.
Thanks
Jeff

Sorry to hear that!! I would have suggested Auto Graphix on Bonney road until I had work done there, so definitely avoid them!! The other place I hear good things about is Mi Car is Chesapeake. Other than that I don't really hear anything else about other places.
