That's impressive for a little 3 valve. Lol. Good work.
Thanks guys, I am very impressed.
NICE! Glad he kept his word and let you use the dyno!
^^^THIS!
So I get to the shop at 12:30pm yesterday and unload my car, then go in the shop to talk to the owner I had the dyno time set up with and I am told he was not and he was gone to Dallas and wouldnt be back till late afternoon. And they didnt know anything about me coming. They gave me his cell number and I was able to contact him though. He said he had worked through the weekend and had just gotten his days mixed up. Okay mistake, now when can we get on the dyno? He said he should be back there by 7:00 and he would stay for the evening if we wanted to tune. so we came back to the shop around 7:15 and got going. Very frustrating start to this day on the dyno but, it all worked out in the end and I appreciate the guys being honest to me that he just plain messed up and didnt try to make excuses.
Now to the good stuff. The above numbers where made on a loaded Dynojet with a non lockup converter, 100* temps in the shop, AND WE NEVER CHANGED THE PULLEY!
With the late start and the fact the car made great power on the 4.3 pulley, we decided that would get to my goal after the first pull on the unfinished dataloged tune hit 646rwhp on the first pull. After the pump tune was dialed in I swapped to race gas, pushed the button on the Trueboost and bam. I went from 16-18 psi on the WG to 21 psi on the pulley. We hit 730 rwhp at this time with no changes in the timing! Then it was go time, Manuel did his thing and we mad another pull and said it is what it is and we are done for the day. Well what do you know 807 rwhp with 635 rwtq !
Now if some off you remember back when the car was done at HPP and then at Eric Brooks shop this size pulley was making my 600/600 pump gas tune. Since then I have added the JPC intake, Comp 127550 cams, and the bigger (1 3/4 x 3") headers and full 3" exhaust. This thing really breathing good now.
Now the AITs. With the Meth/water kit we only saw temps rise 4* on theses pulls from start to finish. Very impressed with this kit. I am on a mix of 25/75 measured by volume so there is very little meth there and is cooling as we had hoped.
I feel the car has a lot more in it with the 3.9 pulley and the 50 shot. I am going to wait till spring to implement those though. I have plenty of power to keep me busy learning to track the car again for this year and will do the the 3.9 and the spray in the spring. So the plan for now in to use the pump tune at the track till I feel I am ready (fall) to run the race gas tune on the track with some proper wheel and slicks.
REALLY BIG thanks to Manuel (Lito) for the work he has done on my car and the great job done yesterday evening on the tune.
