I would just say again...remember the radiator brace. You guys way under-estimated demand. BMR has a good rep and customers tend to run the same brand stuff on their car.

I'm not even sure it would help, but I would buy a BMR axle brace. Especially if it were visible from the driver's seat of the car behind me at the traffic light.

Curious because I've spent the majority of my career in power plant piping stress analysis - did he happen to inspect piping welds?


Back on topic - is any preheat required/recommended? Compared to the axle tubes, the pumpkin is a pretty big heat sink.

Ill ask him about what all he use to inspect. You definately have to preheat both the pumpkin and tubes to make sure you get good penetration.

lol built motor, stock block, ported head, and cams, 29psi on a GT3582r turbo.

He had a built motor/turbo combo.

He is one of the better fabricators in this area, and knows how to make some really ice turbo kits, that make some power.

We had a local fox body car that was going like low low 9's with a T56 and a Turbo kit from TurboFocus...with a 347 budget engine.

Thanks again for the compliment. Bens car at 14psi went 9.20 at 151mph on pump gas, he could drive the F out of that car.

Just got a quote from the most reputable differential shop here of $170 to bring the car in and have them remove the axle and then weld the tubes...now I just need $170...also going to try to get the axle brace too

Can anyone recommend a shop in the DC/Maryland area to have this done at? I don't really drag race much, but I run the piss out of my car at AutoX and road courses, and I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Fact is the 2011+'s just get into that range a lot easier.

It's more of a 60' time thing and a power : weight thing.

I have two... both autos and have raced both of them w/ automatics.

On my 07 GT, I have never experience wheel hop yet. I have only raced my '13 once on stock tires... and the launch was smooth as ice...

There are plenty of 05-09s out there pushing well over 400 and at least in the few forums I frequent I haven't ran across this problem much, just a few times. Are the axle tubes in the 11+ different?

The rear ends are the same. I'm positive its due to fact that ALL 5.0s are making over 400hp versus just a handful of 4.6s, relatively speaking.

They either have no clue what im talking about or quoted me rediculous amount of money to have my rear end pulled.

Find a race shop. Maybe a place that caters to the circle/oval track racing. Ought to be a few of those around Atlanta.

I bet a stock TC automatic won't have as much risk since we can't make as large a shock to the driveline as a manual.
